Only useful for learning the motions of writing
This set is very limited in what it can do. I thought that these wooden alphabet cards could be used to teach the ABCs as well as tracing the letters to learn how to write them. However, the letters blend into the wood because it is all the same color. The shallow groove used for tracing works fine for tracing but is not easy to spot in a pile of similar-colored wood cards. So, basically, this is solely for teaching the motions of creating the uppercase and lowercase letters. It probably does that fine, but my preschooler 4.5-year-old niece is not used to doing things she does not enjoy and so it is hard to get her to work with these for very long. She doesn't understand the need since she has traced arrows in activity books before and so can "already do that." The set is fine and appears to be well made, but it doesn't seem like something that will interest my niece.

Perfect preschool learning set for capital/lowercase letters!
Picked these wood blocks up for our preschooler to work on tracing letter to build pre-writing skills. What caught my wife’s eye with this particular set was the fact that they’re individual letters. Many tracing blocks are the entire alphabet written out on one piece of wood, but these are on individual blocks. Capital letter on one side and lowercase on the other. This makes it EXTREMELY helpful when going through the preschool curriculum and being able to focus on ONE letter, rather than have all the letters in front of her at once. The ONLY issue I have is the fact that there is zero place to hold the wooden writing tool that was included. I would have loved to keep all of the items together for storage and I can see this getting lost with a 4yr old.Overall, this is a great set, letters are deep enough and it’s a perfect tool to gain muscle memory on how to correctly form capital and lowercase letters in the English language.

so many ways to use the wooden tracing cards
We love having timeless wooden manipulatives and learning resources in our home, especially ones that are multi-purposeful. These alphabet tracing cards are just that, they can be used in so many different ways. The can be used for alphabet tracing with a finger for younger kids or with the wooden pen for kids working on pen control. They can also be used to spell words and for crayon letter rubbings. We have also made up various games to play with them while learning letters and their sounds and beginner words. They are nice and smooth and look beautiful and timeless in any space which is always a bonus for me.
