Value Varnish
Sargent Art 22-8808 16-Ounce is my go-to varnish. I like the way it spreads easily ( I spread with an old t-shirt, h2o) using multiple applications works for me. The only thing I found out is that it does not like to be used on a pour painting after cleaning with alchohol, will streak. GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT PRICE!

My rocks shine!!
This is the best gloss sealant I have found. My rocks are shiny and the paint hasn't come off yet. Goes on smoothly.

I like it but...
This works pretty well. It goes on easy and comes off the brushes well. My 2 complaints are sometimes the gloss will get a color tint from the areas I painted. Lastly sometimes after the gloss dries, the area I painted feels sticky.

An actual honest review BUY THIS PRODUCT
I used this on AIR DRY CLAY for a pot I plan on growing a bonsai in. Air dry clay is notoriously fragile and sensitive to moisture, so I was really worried and reviewed a bunch of other products.STRENGTHENINGThis gloss sealed and strengthened my pot exponentially. I mean, I was really blown away. Anyone who’s worked with air dry clay know if you so much as blink near your work it will shatter. After the first coat dried, I was comfortable picking the pot up and not being terrified of making it shatter. I did four thick layers on the outside and used half the bottle on the inside (that’s where fort and water will be the most, I’m not taking any chances)TRANSPARENCY: my pot is, for the most part, the same in terms of color. I saw a lot of bad reviews saying the gloss yellowed and ruined their work. You can see where I MYSELF was negligent and didn’t notice the gloss running down one side. The drip is quite yellow and bubbly. This was not the product, but my own inattentiveness. That drip was the last of four very thick layers, but until the drip itself, there was no discoloration.USING WITH/ON PAINTI also saw a few reviews from people saying the gloss made their paint run or dissolve or whatever. I used acrylic paint on my pot before the gloss and it was fine. The white paint didn’t dissolve nor the pink paint melt away. I have a sneaking suspicion those reviews were from people using poor quality paint, or maybe something like water color? I’m not sure, but anyways, I’m not saying you need to use paint that cost $20 a tube, but don’t use crayola or Walmart brand paint expecting the have your product look professional or last very long. I digressWATER RESISTANCEAs I stated previously, I used the gloss on air dry clay, which doesn’t hold under water and is very fragile. After applying what I wanted on day one, I left the pot outside to dry for a full night and the following morning. When I decided to use the rest of the bottle inside the pot for extra protection, the gloss slid down the side like water on a windshield. I’d say if you want the extra, extra protection, use the bottle in one sitting or it will not stick to itself. I also was forgetful enough to leave my pot on the patio during one of the famous South Carolina spring storms we had last week. Everything on my patio was drenched by the time I remembered, but the pot remained the same. The rain, heavy rain, didn’t destroy the seal or my pot.TLDRIf you want to do DIY, make pottery, seal canvas etc I’d highly recommend this product. It is waterproof, does not yellow(unless you’re being negligent like I was), DOES NOT destroy decent quality acrylic paint, and dries quickly.(I did all the layers described above in one afternoon on my patio). Well worth the money, and very easily cleaned off of surfaces and skin

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
So thankful for all the reviews! Glad that I read quite a few, a few unfavorable ones, a real shame that there pictures didn't turn out, however, I can see that someone would panic at first, when initially putting glaze on, it is cloudy, and like magic, it drys clear and shiny and the colors pop out! It also seals. I have used this on painted rocks with acrylic, drawing pictures with water colors, oil, and acrylic. Same thing appears, paper is cloudy and covers the paint, until it drys. One time I did not let the paint dry completley on a rock, and when it dried it darkened the colors of the drawing, didn't ruin it but it changed, that was my fault, this product works when paint is dry. I also added glaze to acrylic paint before i painted and the paint color came out shiny as I hoped! Not to thick or to thin, easy to put on, hardly any smell, drys with 10-15 minutes, and easily washes off brush!

Good, but yellows badly
The good:Easy to apply.Dries clear.Dries quick. The bad:Yellows terribly by several shades within a few days.Pulls or changes the color of certain mediums, specifically red.Multiple layers feel a little sticky after drying and need a few days to "cure."This gloss is thing, but effective. You can achieve a beautifly high gloss with only one coat and the results will be stunning. However, that fact is rendered almost meaningless by the fact that it yellows so much in such a short period of time. If your piece has a lot of highlights and hotspot or any white in it, do not buy this gloss. It will yellow.Likewise, be cautions with pieces that have red's or magenta's in them as this gloss will de-color or change them into orange. In my experience, red acrylic paint, colored pencils and pastels fared well, but crayon turned orange. If you choose to buy this gloss, I recommend creating a few test pieces in your preferred medium before creating your masterpiece.

Great value and great quality 👍
Great value for the money and it looks amazing. Whenever you apply it, it will look like there is glue all over but it does dry clear. I included pictures of after applying the product and when it has dried to show. The easiest method I found to apply is a sponge. I glazed 2- 8 inch terra cotta pots and 1- 10 inch hanging basket (outside and half of inside) and only used about 15% of the bottle (also shown in pics).

Great service
Great service provided by the company. The original shipment came and it appeared it may have froze? Very thick and grainy. The company replaced it immediately. I used it a bit last night, seems great!

Good for selected projects.
I have found this product does have some solid clumps in it (not winter right now so it isn't the cold). I have not used this on my paintings. I have found it works well varnishing my clay projects though. I can easily get the clumps off the clay as it is visible. On a painting, I would not recommend this product unless you were mixing your paint with this to gloss up the paint or give more of a coloured glaze look to projects. I used this to dilute a blue acrylic paint I used on a wood crate. For what I paid, it has been worth it for me. Just as some others have said, be cautious of the product if you are to buy it and what you choose to use it for. I pour it into a plastic saucer prior to applying. I watch for the clumps. It may be to much drama for some, but for some projects this item is fine.

Great finish for crafts
No smell, fast drying, have used over mod podge to keept it from being sticky, I have used it watered down on burlap so I could cut out shapes without too much fraying, have used it over crochet items for christmas ornaments, also I painted on plastic canvas then applied a coat of this varnish so the paint would stay on, worked great. Overall this is a really great acrylic finish.

Smudged my painting
I used it on one of my acrylic paintings as external varnish. Unfortunately it dissolved and smudged my black paint pretty much ruining the painting. I need to add that the painting was dry and cured for at least a week before using this product. It only smudged the black paint for some reason.
