Does what it’s supposed to
Bought to put inside the sump pump drain so we can be alerted before we go to the basement and find it’s wet. Instructions seemed a little out of order, but easy enough to figure out. WiFi works well. We have a two story home and the router lives on the second floor, no issues with connecting to the WiFi even down in the basement corner. I tested it before installing, and was immediately alerted on my phone when the sensor hit the water in the sump pump hole.Instructions say it won’t function when it’s plugged in, so that’s a bit disappointing. I would rather just plug it in and leave it instead of having to remember to charge it periodically. The built in alarm is not very loud. If you are planning to have this in your basement, odds are you will not hear it unless there’s nothing else running in your house and you don’t have children running around. The alarm sound is the William Tell Overture, not a standard alarm shriek, which is fine but unexpected. I suppose I didn’t buy it for the loudness of the alarm, but for the phone alert function, which does seem to work well.Overall, happy with product and would recommend for the price.

Dead Out Of The Box; Hard To Read Instructions
JUNK! The batter was dead (and unchargable) out-of-the-box. The instructions are confusing and printed too tiny for old eyes to read (even with reading glasses) without zooming-in with your phone. When I'd first received this device, it didn't appear to be able to charge. Had it plugged-into USB for several days and the blue light (indicating it was charging) never went-out. It would give water alerts when it was connected to USB power but not when unplugged, which indicates to me that the battery is no-good (or non-existent). I lost track of it, and then remembered I needed to connect it to my WiFi and install the app on my phone. I couldn't get it to work. The instructions were somewhat cryptic and printed in microscopic text. Because I had I lost track of time the return window expired, so I couldn't get a refund :-( Amazon was nice enough to give me a $5 promo (thanks!), so, I'll just have to consider my $17 loss a "stupid tax" for not playing-with (and sending-back) sooner.

It adds a sense of comfort
I live over 2 hours from my boat that stays in a slip. So I just thought I needed something that would alert me remotely. This unit was the right price and it works with my Iphone as advertised. I hope I never need it but it's now in the bilge if I do.
