Great little helper
Yes, I am that person that manages to loose their keys periodically. Usually because I am running late to something or rushing in from something and set them down for "just a minute" and then forget to pick them back up. The setup with my phone was quick and easy. Within minutes I was paging my keys. I think the ringer could be a little bit louder and I feel like I am using a metal detector at the beach while it is trying to locate my keys. Beep, Beep, Beep. So far it works like a charm and I am sure this will help when I am searching all over for my keys like an idiot. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Seriously?
I had high hopes. Set-up was surprisingly easy. It linked right up to my Panasonic house phone. The first few tests were flawless. Then the device, now on my key ring, started beeping--frequently and randomly--in the car, the grocery store, anywhere and everywhere--for no apparent reason. It did this for several days, off and on. This alone was enough to make me hate it. The next time I tested it, it wasn't find-able. Perhaps it was the death of the battery from all of the random beeping, Truly a joke of a product.

Have you ever called your keys? Now you can...and they answer! (picture the "amazed" emoji here)
Well worth purchasing. This thing has saved me so many times! I have found my keys instantly - down the side of the couch, in my purse but not specifically where they belong, and even in my BF's pocket (he was outside - downstairs, down the driveway and in front of the house next door...it still beeped). He was trying to figure out what that noise was (hee hee).It took getting used to at first. I had to remember "wait...I have that thingie now", but I am officially spoiled & a big fan now. I've found my keys quickly & easily (ranging from 18 to 92, meaning they were practically under my nose). You simply dial a code from your Panasonic phone and both the phone and the key detector start beeping. You can mute the phone to hear only the keys (which I find is easier) and watch the phone screen that tells you (on a scale of 1-100) how close you are. It's kind of a game of "you're getting warmer....warm, warm, cold, warm, warmer, hot, there they are!" Fortunately, I'm usually in the same room as the keys, so it starts at 80-90 and I find them in SECONDS. Such a time-saver. Wish I had purchased this long ago, but I had no idea it existed until Amazon's recommendation popped up when I replaced a handset for Panasonic phones! You can have a few of these key finders paired with the same phone system, so I am thinking of a way to connect one to the remote control as that thing wanders off on its own all the time.I highly recommend this...you'll find your keys with ease, and if you're like me, without the panic that they're lost or frustration with yourself for misplacing them. I just grab the phone, call my keys & wait for them to answer.◇◇◇1/5/2019 EDIT◇◇◇Removed 1 ☆ because this thing DEVOURS batteries. Just discovered this when I lost my keys & they (once again) didn't answer. I replaced the battery about 2 weeks ago when I tested it & found it unresponsive. Had I thought about it long ago, I would've been keeping track to see how often it needs replacing. *sigh* Why must there be a "catch" with EVERYthing??? Not a deal-breaker, but well worth mentioning.

Just another reason the Panasonic KX-TG7000 series phone systems are so awesome.
I got the Panasonic phone system for its ability to block 250 numbers and in the box came this little flyer for the Key detector. I went to the website and they had another key detector for a different system and it appeared this one was no longer being sold. I did not want to take a chance that the one they offered would work with my system (because my system was not listed) and so I looked for it on Amazon. I thought it was a little pricey but I see now how much time and effort it will save in the future. I bought two and they work perfectly together with all three phones in my system. I have each attached to car keys that are constantly being lost since 4 people share 2 vehicles and nobody knows who has the keys (buried in their dirty clothes in a pair of jeans or something). I recommend this for anyone who has the Panasonic KX-TG7871 and other systems it works with.

The jury is still out! Great features, but some serious issues after a short while...
Phone came with full featured base & 2 nice handsets. GREAT features & not too hard to set up. But after about 1 month, one handset lost one line of display all the way across the screen, usable, but I feared it would further degrade. Panasonic promptly replaced that handset under warranty. Initially all was well, but within a week or so, the replacement handset sound quality began to degrade and then over a few more months the other handset and then the base also began to have poor sound quality. The handsets now often produce an annoying delayed echoing of your own voice, drowning out the response of the.other person! Maddening!! Other similar cordless telephone sets tested on the same outlet have NO problems!! Getting ready to contact Panasonic again before warranty expires.I have always had GREAT luck with Panasonic phones - the last cordless set was over 30 years old! I hope I just got a lemon. We will see....

To much hassle and six month later it did not work
Bought it and followed the directions to get it to work. Best of my recollection it did work on day one. However about six months later when my wife misplaced her keys I had to get the instruction backs out to figure out how to use it again. I followed the instructions and walked all around the house waiting to hear the BEEP when I was near the keys. I did find the keys myself, but the beeper would not go off, even when I put it 4 inches away.

very helpful to have
Are you ever running late in the morning because you can't find your keys? Then this product is for you! This key finder works with certain Panasonic phones. It is a fob that goes on your Keychain. From the phone base, you can press a button and the key fob will emit a series of beeps to allow you to find your keys in the house. The key finder doesn't help if you lose your keys at the store or somewhere like that, it has a limited distance from the phone base. It is extremely helpful if your keys tend to go missing around the home (like mine) due to kids, pets or poltergeists (you never know, lol.)

Frustrating to get to work but worth it.
I finally got the Key Detector to work but I found the instruction very confusing to perform. It was not obvious to me. I nearly sent it back but once I got it working I was very happy because it performed the way it was suppose to. You really have to read the instruction very carefully but many of us a functionally ignorant.

This item works great, great for people like my wife and I that are all to good at forgetting where we placed things. This item is well worth purchasing but check that it is compatible with your phone. I had to purchase a new phone as it did not work with the model I was using.
