This of high quality. Was hoping for something to pre filter before going to filter and icemaker on fridge. The filter on fridge lasted only 4 mo. without this filter. we've had this pre filter for 3 months now and the fridge sensor says 66% left on fridge filter. So time will tell. Easy to clean. Nice unit.

I was pleased with the overall construction of this filter. It comes with everything needed to mount it and service it. The one major flaw, is the the inlet and outlet are NOT 1" NPT. They have no taper, and no amount of tightening will preven leaks if you use 1" NPT fittings on them and typical thread sealant (which is better than teflon tape). This is evidenced by the 1" to 3/4" included reducers. The are not a standard NPT reducer, rather they are like a female garden hose connector with a rubber gasket. To solve the leaking issue, I had to wrap 8 turns of teflon tape around the 1" male input/output to build them up and get them to seal. I am leery of this connection and will be watching for leaks.

Extreme value for the money. The adaptors that are included cost more at my big box store than this whole assembly. Very high quality and workmanship. Mounting bracket, wrench, and drain tubing included.This is a 40 micron (not the usual 50) filter and should be more than enough to keep sand out of my water softener venturi valve and associated parts.

We have had this on our house water filtration system. It willWorks well, but our well water is so compromised. It corroded up badly. Not the fault of the fittings on the filter, we believe water reaction to the connectors.

This filter leaks water no matter what adapter is attached. I tried 4 different adapters with this filter and they all leak water. It's not the adapter's fault. The treads on the filter housing seems to be flawed. Even Plumbers tape does not fixes the water from leaking out between the filter housing attachment and whatever adapter you put on it. The product comes with down sized adapters and they were the worst. I tried many ideas and 4 different adapters at the end of the day the slowest I could get the leak is 30 drops a minute. 90 gallons of water wasted for a flawed water filter. My only idea of why it leaks is the threads groves' on the filters housing (to attach any adapter to your water line) are cut so deep allowing water to leak through the thread groves cuts . And it's deep enough that plumbers tape does not help.

Update:Although I had issues and was beyond the 30 day return period the Vendor provided me with a full refund. So you can buy this product and know it will either work for you as intended or you will receive a full refund. I did suggest that maybe a larger filter and a better scraper would be an improvement.Installed this as the first part of a two part well water filtration system. This piece filters out the larger particles and the second filter takes out the smaller, microscopic particles before water flows into home piping. The problem with this item is that a small amount of particles blocks water flow thereby reducing pressure so I must clean daily. I am going back to only second filter which I was hoping to change less often, say monthly, rather than every couple of weeks by removing the larger particles first. The large particles fall to the bottom of the second filter so blockage and thereby low pressure avoided until entire filter needs changing. Product is a good idea and may need to be larger to avoid daily cleaning, though cleaning is easy as instructed.

Just what I needed
