SLOW BURN OMG. The story is inspiring in many ways like all the characters. Like Spanish Love Deception, you’ll laugh and smile as you read.

One of the highlights of this novel is the authenticity of the characters.
"The American Roommate Experiment" is a charming and heartwarming novel that takes readers on a delightful journey of friendship, self-discovery, and cultural exchange. Set against the backdrop of a bustling university campus, this story explores the complexities and joys of living with a roommate from a different country. The narrative follows Lily, an American student, who finds herself paired with Mia, an international student from a faraway land. As the two navigate the challenges of sharing a living space, they embark on a journey of understanding, acceptance, and personal growth. The contrast between their cultures and backgrounds adds depth and intrigue to the story, as they learn from each other, challenge their preconceived notions, and forge a deep bond. One of the highlights of this novel is the authenticity of the characters. Both Lily and Mia are well-developed and relatable, with their own unique quirks, dreams, and insecurities. The author does an excellent job of portraying their individual journeys and capturing the nuances of their friendship. The reader becomes fully invested in their lives, rooting for them as they navigate their personal challenges and cheer each other on."The American Roommate Experiment" also shines a light on the transformative power of cross-cultural experiences. Through Lily and Mia's interactions, the novel explores themes of empathy, cultural appreciation, and the importance of embracing diversity. It encourages readers to step outside their comfort zones, embrace new experiences, and celebrate the beauty of different perspectives. While the pacing of the story is generally well-executed, there were moments when the plot felt slightly predictable. Some readers may have wanted to see more depth in certain subplots or explore additional themes related to the roommate dynamic. However, these minor criticisms do not overshadow the overall charm and appeal of the book.In conclusion, "The American Roommate Experiment" is a delightful and heartwarming novel that captures the essence of friendship, cultural exchange, and personal growth. It offers an engaging and enjoyable reading experience, perfect for those seeking a feel-good story that

Love!!❤️
I don't write reviews..... ever. So for me to write a review on something I either really had to love it or really hated it. This book I loved so much that I can't stop thinking about it and want to just reread it so I can get my fill of Rosie and Lucas. What follows is just a couple of things (about this book and the first by Elena Armas) that I would've loved even more about the book had they been written.I'll start by saying, this book(and the first one) has all of the feels, is swoon worthy, and is worth the 5 stars I gave it. I'm not one who usually reads those romance novels that only have 1-2 really steamy scenes in them or that take half of the book to get to those scenes either, but I couldn't put these down. It's as if the love and the butterflies that they gave you for the characters throughout the first half of the book was enough to satisfy until those scenes did happen. Once they did though🔥, I didn't want them to end! So a couple more steamy scenes would've been really nice in these books.I can also see where some say that they liked the first book by Elena Armas better, due to this one having a slow start, but I loved it all of the same. I think that "slow start" had me appreciating all of the cute things that Lucas or Rosie were doing for each other that make you know that they both have feelings (as small as they might be in the beginning) for each other early on. The only things I disliked about this book (AND the first) was that I felt that they ended too fast (with so many things that could've still been written about I feel like it was rushed to an ending). Yes, you get to look ahead a year into the future and hear what all happened for that time span that wasn't really covered, but I just want more! More Rosie and Lucas (and more Lina and Aaron from the first book as well). I feel like these books could've been stretched further, more info, more time, more loving, more action/events at the end after you know that they're in love and a couple. They could've been their own individual series for each couple as well what with so many things being left open for discussion or story writing in the end.In conclusion, after reading both of these books (each under 24 hrs) I would definitely recommend them to others and already have. They still both get 5 stars from me because I loved them so much. I'm missing Rosie and Lucas already and can't wait to read any more books written by Elena Armas.

Stuffed with swoony moments. One bed trope lover’s dream.
Like Spanish Love Deception, the American Roommate Experiment begins with our FMC having a super awkward encounter with the MMC. BUT also just like SLD, once I was past the cringe-worthy opening scene, Rosie’s character blossomed and unfurled. Shes funny and teasing, caring and anxious. She’s got a lot on the go, and a lot on her mind, and so it becomes clearer why that cringy beginning happens. And Oh My bookie goodness, do I swoon! Which, for me, was surprising because it is not enemies to lovers. Lucas is a suave Spanish surfer, and Lena’s cousin. He’s the one that couldn’t make it to the wedding. He is thoughtful, considerate, sexy, a talented cook and full of secrets. He’s wonderful, and like Rosie, I couldn’t help but daydream about him. He’s so wonderful, and truthfully it is Elena Armas’ superior storytelling that makes his character compelling instead of relying on a trope to drive the characters through the story. This book is absolutely stuffed with dreamy swoony (spicy) moments, laugh out loud moments, and relatable situations that had me entirely caught up in the story. And if you like the One Bed trope…this one has one - everything…one bed, one studio apartment, one stool.

I love this book so much. It really gives an amazing look into how men and women really think. The characters are relatable and very much down to earth. I've fallen for everyone in this book excellent read.

May even be better than the Spanish Love Deception
This was our first read of 2023 and it was a good pick! It’s no secret that we loved the Spanish Love Deception so we were way too excited to get to read another book by Elena Armas! What we loved: 🌟Lucas! His personality was fun to watch and we couldn’t help but love him.🌟Rosie is an extremely likable main character. We enjoyed watching her repair her relationship with Ollie as well.🌟The dates Lucas planned for Rosie 😍🌟 The tropes: Forced proximity, slow burn, meet cuteRead if you liked: - The Spanish Love Deception- Maggies Moves On by Lucy ScoreAll in all, we really really loved the American Roommate Experiment, maybe even more than the Spanish Love Deception (maybe). This is truly an escapist romance that’s extremely heartfelt. Be sure to add this one to your list!
