Baxton Furniture Studios Edouard French Provincial Style Distressed Two Tone Writing Desk, White Wash

Beautiful color and on the small side, which is what I wanted. But, and this is a big BUT, it was pretty shoddy from a construction perspective. The beam that supports the large drawer fell off a few hours after putting the whole thing together. I jury rigged a solution by using wood glue and a staple gun, but to fit it in correctly it had to be angled. Now the drawer is crooked. The smaller drawers are fairly shallow and can't hold anything substantive. Overall, disappointing.

Fist off, it says it is white, but it is actually gray. It is made out of cardboard and came broken. My daughter still likes it and the style matches her other furniture but that is all whitewashed, not gray. We may repaint it. My hubby is thankfully very handy as he is going to cut wood to replace the broken pieces and make it more sturdy.

The shipping box had four major damaged areas! Since it was made in Indonesia, it had to make a long journey to the USA, so putting the words "Handle With Care" or "Fragile" on the box should have been a no brainer.As for the desk, two corner supports are badly cracked. Both drawer stops for the large drawer are broken. The desk top front corner is damaged. The wood is cracker on the exterior side of the desk. The brackets to fasten the hutch to the desk to not line up. My husband was able to make some of the repairs, but the crack on the exterior side he could not.I intend to put the desk in a small area of our living room. It will be very visible to everyone who enters the room. That is why I am so disappointed. The desk is a nice size and color, but everything else about it is a big letdown.I read the negative reviews, decided to gamble, and lost.

First one came damaged second better but not perfect my hubby reinforced some weak points. Little drawers are not in a track so pulls out which I don’t mind. Love the finish and does the job required. Fits perfectly in my space.
