Purchased a 4-pack for $87 in October 2018 because I was on my last charcoal filter. Installed it 2 days ago. Followed ALL the instructions. The previous charcoal filters did their job. However, the Swift imparts a funky taste to the water. It tastes chalky, has a chemical, almost chlorine, taste and is quite unpleasant. Perhaps this particular filter is defective but that’s $22 wasted, or more, if they are all the same. BUYER BEWARE.UPDATE: I replaced the 1st filter with one of the remaining 3 filters. And, yes, I once AGAIN followed the instructions. Same results. I cannot attest to if the filter removes impurities etc., but in the process it adds an unpleasant taste to the water that even my unfiltered water does not have. Sorry to say this brand filter is a bust.

I've used these several times. Water tastes good and they are a fraction of the cost of the fridge company. They fit well. I buy them in pairs. When water first comes out it's blackish from the carbon dust so be sure to throw away the first batch of ice and run the water a bit before using it. I don't go by the light on the refrigerator about replacing them. I replace them when my wife starts complaining that the water tastes bad. Much better test. The last one I put in broke apart under the pressure of the water and flooded the fridge and part of my floor. A real mess. The company responded quickly and promised a rebate. If they actually give me a rebate I'll be satisfied but nervous for now. If it happens with another filter I'll stop using them. Hoping for the best. My rating was a 5 star until the failure.

I have been buying these filters for my Jenn-Air refrigerator since 2014. I have had no leakages or difficulties installing them. I am fussy when it comes to the flavor of my drinking water. The tap water in my area has a slight flavor that this filter removes. They have a VOC (Volatile Organic Chemicals) rating of 200 gallons and a CTO (chlorine, taste, and odor) rating of 2500 gallons. The OEM Everydrop brand that Whirlpool family of brands recommends has a VOC rating of 300 gallons.All these filters work by using activated carbon to absorb carbon-based compounds (organic molecules) and a few other chemicals, including chlorine. It will not remove sodium or nitrate compounds. The carbon needs to be food grade to filter water (which means the stuff that goes in the barbecue will not work; the better ones are made from coconut shells), ground to the right size, and packed well with a few other filtration materials. As consumers we can only rely on inspections of the production facilities to know what quality of carbon and components we are buying.

I have a Maytag fridge and Swift claims that these filters are compatible with the factory version. I followed all instructions to the letter, but when after installing the filters, the following happened:1) There was a horrendous noise that came from the fridge air line and no water came out2) I was told by Swift that I had installed them incorrectly & needed to make an additional twist to the right, this was not true, they were installed correctly & turned all the way already.3) After I removed the filters to test my factory ones again, there was extreme leakage from the nozzles in the fridge. Meaning, when I took the Swift filters out, the nozzles should automatically seal while you change filters, but this did not happen, they were stuckopen. The Swift filters had caused the nozzle to stick/malfunction because of incorrect fit.4) After reinstalling my factory filters and finally getting the leakage to stop, my dispenser does not work correctly anymore. The water comes out in a trickle, so slowly as to be unuseable, either with the Swift filters or the old ones. The only conclusion to be drawn is that the Swift filter has permanently damaged the nozzles.5) Swift has not offered anything since I informed them of this fact, replacement, nozzle repair, nothing.I strongly advise against purchasing these filters based on my experience.

Ordered the exact refill for my refrigerator and the filter leaks water all over. Water pouring water all over in my refrigerator! Now I have to call the company and will probably have to return these things at my expense! So frustrating when I ordered the exact model number required and they don’t fit properly. And I still won’t have a usable filter! GRRRRR!!!!!!!

The filter worked when installed with no leaks. When I opened the package to prepare for installation the instructions showed an O-ring to be used when installed. There was no O-ring. I took a chance and installed without the O-ring. The filter did not leak and is operating fine. I followed up with an e- mail to the vendor and was informed that the O-ring was no longer needed based on a design change. The vendor needs to update the installation package and there should be a toll free number to call for help (the current number is in Canada and not residential customer friendly).

I've been buying these water filters for our Whirlpool refrigerator for a few years now and I'm so happy with them. Our family of 5 uses the water dispenser on our refrigerator often, so I love that I can get these recycled filters for a fraction of what Lowe's charges for the same thing!

I’ve been using these filters for years for my refrigerator ice and water. Great tasting. Clear ice. Eco friendly coconut husk charcoal. Fits perfectly and is much better price than the oem brand. Worth the value and quality of safe tasty water.

The first package of filters did not fit our fridge. Apparently the design has changed with newer models but the product number stays the same. Strange. Highly recommending calling to ensure a proper fit. On the plus side they acted quickly to my issue and worked with the manufacturer to provide the older version that works great. So kudos to the company for resolving the issue.

Replacement filter for our Whirlpool fridge. Takes a little work to get them connected properly so they don’t leak but otherwise work fine.

Work very well, just make sure you have a positive engagement as you twist it on. It takes a bit of effort.

Came exactly as I expected. You can notice a change in the taste of the water right away.I wish this would filter fluoride but this is a decent solution for now.
