Crowdfunding for Filmmakers: The Way to a Successful Film Campaign- 2nd Edition

Read this if you're trying to crowdfund for your film or TV project. It's a hell of a lot harder than you think it is and you really need to launch a CF campaign the right way the first time around (trust me, I've done this by now, it's grueling!). This book helps explain what you need to do now, today to start planning for your campaign. The biggest take aways is that the planning and building a network starts way sooner than you'd think and success rests at your ability to grow and utilize a network of supporters. He had great antidotes about projects he's worked on in the past and so it's nice to go and look at those projects outside of the book so see how these successful projects promoted themselves, where their projects got picked up on blogs, news, etc. He does these #TrigTalks on social media that are cool too - so if you follow him, he drops bits of advice too about this topic.

I heard about Mr. Trigonis on a video he did with the "Film Courage" YouTube channel, in just that 5 minute video he gave me so much valuable information that when I found out he had written a book as well I bought it immediately.I have to say that this book literally contains everything you need to know about crowdfunding, from how to interact with your "Crowd" to incentivising them to contribute to your campaign, to numerous social media tips that I had never thought of before.Crowdfunding for Filmmakers is a MUST BUY for anyone interested in starting their own campaign.

We're just launching our campaign after months of preparation. This book was invaluable in making us confident and ready to take up a crowd fund. We would honestly be lost if we didn't have access to Trigonis' insight and know-how. Our campaign could fall flat on its face, but because of this book, we would feel completely confident that we gave it our best shot. I'm an indie filmmaker working on my first crowdfunding campaign. This is a must have along with RB's Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers. The chapter in this book "Don't solicit, elicit" should be the #1 thing all indie filmmakers should think about before they ask for help of any kind. John's interviews on youtube about crowdfunding are very helpful as well!

This book really helped us consider all of the important factors for our own campaign and helped us keep our audience in mind at all times when designing our Hi-Def and 3-D backer intensives. My well-highlighted and dogeared copy will be kept for future use and I will continue to recommend it to all filmmakers I know who are considering crowdfunding.
