Great Universal fan
Very good fan in all respects: Airflow, sound intensity, vibration and efficiency. Quite suitable for solar application. Works GREAT with my 100W, (~)12V panel but will work with much smaller panels too. When wired - to black and + to blue the airflow is towards the wires, the screen, towards you as pictured. To reverse the airflow reverse the wires AND the fan or it will not blow much air. One nut holds it on. Mine squeaked at low speeds in one direction so I reversed the wires and fan blades. The motor appears to be of automotive quality, designed for a demanding environment. I use it in my greenhouse. Does the job nicely and will fulfill a multitude of diverse applications. Recommend buy.

ok but
Wish housing was bigger. Hard to mount unless cut out is exact. Mounting holes are too close to fan.Other than that, works well.

Nice heavy duty fan
I needed an exhaust fan for my shed and I wanted something sturdy that would withstand heat in an off grid application. This fan is more like a radiator fan for a small car or something. It's well balanced and fit perfectly under the vented skylight in my tack room (shed). It seems to move a decent amount of air for the size and I also installed the thermostat that goes with the fan, which is pictured. The motor is quiet but the fan is not, but the noise isn't an issue since I don't live in the shed. The thermostat is permanently set at 85 degrees, but I'm unable to test it's shut off - turn on function. There is no on off switch on this fan. I've decided to add a controller, battery and switch for a more consistent power supply and to run lights. I will amend this review if problems develop later, but so far I couldn't be happier with this fan.

Is there having this problem with this fan model??
It was a great fan while it worked. installed it in the attic mid April. It was humming away for 6 months then i did not hear the familiar fan noise that i heard all summer. finally got time and attic got cooler to check it out. It seems like its has a start cycle then run cycle maybe ??? but it never gets up to speed with a solar panel putting out 18.3 volts d.c. with no load and 2 100 watt panels rated at that voltage. hoping the warranty is longer than 6 months

Appears to be a quality fan
This fan is replacing a 3-year-old fan that ran continuously got it hooked up and running if I get 3 years out of it I'll be happy ....100 watt panel, cheap charge controller and a old 12 volt battery...... this fan is moving a lot of air

Well made and runs smooth
Going to run it in my attic as a gable ventilator. Was concerned about noise at 12 volts, so bought a 12-6 volt converter. At 6 volts the fan still moves plenty of air and the noise is OK. At 6 volts the amp draw is about 2 and the draw from the 12 volt battery is only 1.3. Going to connect to my battery backed up solar system so will work on overcast days too.
