Cozy Classics: Emma

Jane Austen meets a board book
Adorable addition to my Austen collection. Sturdy board book with 12 scenes/12 words that perfectly incapsulates the story of Emma.

Five stars for an adult fan of Austen -- not sure abou children.... Maybe a fun opportunity for parents to fill in the gaps
I think needle-felting in general is a neat craft, and the work here is very sophisticated, with the characters having the appropriate facial expressions in each illustration. (I mean, look at Emma's wink on the cover!) I think adult fans of Austen / Emma will love this -- I do -- but I'm not sure how it really works as a children's book. It has 1 word per page over 10 pages (man, goodbye, hello, why,....) with a scene on the opposite facing page depicting a scene from the story.I do think it might be fun for a parent to read the book as is to a child when they're young, and then elaborate on the story on subsequent readings as the child gets older.

I feel like the older a child gets the more they will ...
Limited on words but the images make up for the lack of words. I feel like the older a child gets the more they will get from it. My son loves the art in the book a lot already. He enjoys that most about the books from Jack Wang. Though he does have us read them to him as well. The words help to build a small vocabulary. They are well chosen to help move the story along and describe the key info about the images.

As a lover of both the classics and fiber arts ...
As a lover of both the classics and fiber arts I can say these books by Jack Wang are pure genius. I had to order three (Emma, Jane Eyre, Pride & Prejudice) just to quench my curiosity: 12 words? 12 pictures? How can something so simple represent the profoundness of each novel? My three year old daughter loves them and has memorized Emma. Each picture and word remind me of the story. It works on both levels. The felted figures fill each page with personality and emotion. Well done.

I love these books!
I love how Cozy Classics take out the basic important words of a classic story and turn them into a picture book. The artwork is amazing. I love to look around and notice all the details. I use these books with both my preschooler and my high school students, and they all enjoy them. And as a Jane Austen fan, I have bought all of the Austen books for my personal collection. I hope the creators eventually cover all of Austen's books!

Worth the money
The little girl I gave this to, loved it. She’s 4 and for whatever reason thought the pictures were hilarious. I thought it was cute.

Not for me or my grandchildren.
I know people gave these lovely reviews, but I couldn't figure out why. I am a teacher and a language therapist. Each page has one work picked out to read. My opinion is that the word is too difficult for the audiencce you are trying to interest. By the time the child gets old enough to understand the word, they would be ready to go into a book with more words. So some intellectuals in the crowd think it is dandy. I didn't. I sent one back. I showed the other 2 to my daughter with the 18 month olds and she rolled her eyes and gave them a thumbs down.

Enjoyable read for toddlers
Bought as a gift for my English major friend's daughter and she was enchanted by the pictures. It stayed a favorite of hers for a long, long time.

Lovely
A very sweet book; the dolls' faces show more emotion than I had ever thought possible for felt dolls. Very well done.

Ma cos'é?
Forse sono io che non capisco.... Ma sono 6 pagine con disegni, si, é una traccia della trama, ma a cosa serve? Soldi buttati o io troppo ignorante....
