Love this product! And way cheaper then $40 each the gas company was going to charge me! The ceramic piece makes it soooo easy to install! Simply slide it onto the gas outlet and slightly twist it to hold in place! It was super easy to light them with one of those long handle lighters and then just adjust the gas to how bright you want them. At first I didn’t know the brightness was adjustable and turned the gas up all the way. These mantles were so bright it literally was brighter then the street lights. My entire front yard was lit up! They stayed on during a storm and snow so far. The last set which was the same brand just 4 times the price from the gas company lasted me over 2 years...guess I’ll see if they last as long this time! Either way it’s a great product...easy to install...works great and for a great price! Will always reorder it!!!!

The last ones I bought were about two years ago and were still working well but the glass on the lamp post was getting pretty dirty and one of the panes was cracked. It's almost impossible to shut them off and save them but I didn't have any replacements so I very carefully removed the old ones, cleaned the glass and replaced the broken pane. I went to put the old ones back in and slipped and broke one of them. I turned the gas on and lit the good one and ordered two new ones which came in just two days later. I should be good for a while or at least until the glass gets dirty or breaks again.

I was excited about these mantles when I purchased them. They seemed well made and were very bright when I lit my outdoor natural gas lamp. One of the two failed after about a week. The mesh part separated from the ceramic and the second was coming undone. I had high hopes based on the price.

I like that this is touch free installation. The best thing about it is that it is preformed, providing for a more even distribution of light. The type that come in bags are flattened and don't look as good when lit. The only downside to this is that it cost more. You get what you pay for.

We have an outdoor gas mantle that we are required to keep lit by our HOA. We live in an area that has been experiencing a lot of high winds. The mantles have remained lit through some pretty fierce gusts. Although the wind did blow them out, they were easily relit. This is a big improvement over the cheaper version of these mantles by the same company. We found those did not re-light so needed to be replaced. We are on our 3rd re-lite with these mantles. We were also very happy to find that these came ready to be put in place. No need to shape them. Will definitely buy these again (if needed)

Granted I just installed them today. Once I see how long they last I will update the review. However, I previously had installed the loose ones and they were disgustingly ugly and actually did not put off much light. Also, the little nub that they hang by was broken off before I even installed it. This seller stated several times that due to the way they package their product we would not have any issue with them being broken. YAY! GREAT JOB! Reading some reviews, remember that once they are lighted then netting cannot be touched or bumped or they will disintegrate into a powder. If you want to do anything like wash the glass then turn off the gas, wait until it cools, remove the glass AND DO NOT BUMP THE MANTELS. When done put all glass in but one panel, light the mantels and DO NOT TOUCH THEM, then install last panel of glass. These are exactly like the style original to my 1967 gas light. It’s bright, beautiful and happily nostalgic. Thank you seller AND Thank You Amazon. I will order more right away just to have them in stock. I will update on longevity at a later time.

I was intrigued by the potential of the design of these mantles. They are shipped in very secure packaging with a "fixed" mantle shape vs. loose "flexible" netting. The installation process was similar, yet easier, than installation of regular loose "flexible" netting. The lighting process was essentially the same. My disappointment is the very small size of the "fixed" mantle once lighting was completed successfully. Also, they are not very bright, although, I realize the brightness is probably more a function of my own lantern pole and gas line. Maybe there is a larger "size" available, but, pricing would probably be prohibitive assuming a larger size would be more than the premium pricing of the "small" mantles I ordered. Great concept I am glad I explored, but, in the future I'll purchase cheaper "flexible" mantles for better final results with negligible additional installation hassle. Thanks!

Bought this set of two for my elderly neighbor who did not know what to do with her failed gaslight. Installation and all went well. Fired up in 15 min. Merry Christmas! Still working for her 11/30/22. Got a thank you for saving a $500 electrification install.

It is a replacement. Perfect!

We were very happy to finally find different gas mantles than Auer Licht, and we were more than willing to pay the 2 pounds extra per gas mantle believing that the American gas mantles would last longer and were of better quality than those of our local shops who only sell Auer Licht. Imagine our disappointment when our package arrived with an Auer Licht box in it! Not only have we been overcharged, we have been mislead by buying American gas mantles instead of Auer Licht and receiving Auer Licht gas mantles instead. The quality is poor and the mantles don't last long at all, as expected from Auer Licht. A big disappointment. I also find it very bad that the supplier doesn't mention anywhere that the gas mantles are from Auer Licht. We won't buy anything from this supplier again!

Great product for Outdoor Gas Latern!

This product is non-returnable. It was the incorrect size for my lamp. Lesson learned - in the future to check the sizing. Again, I have two of these things one never out of box. The other one out of the box for less then 1 minute. Again, non-returnable. Oh well.

After ordering this product the product was good however the size was wrong the careful knowing the diameter inner and outer before ordering I have to complement Amazon on the return policy
