ESKS Original SKS Buttstock Cleaning Kit (May Have Cosmoline)

Fits my Yugoslavian butstock perfectly. Set was complete. Only con was it still had a good bit of Cosmoline to clean off. No biggie.

most sks rifles i have seen have a stock compartment to hold a cleaning and maintinence kit, but never have a kit in them, the kit has all the tools needed to take the rifle apart for a thourogh cleaning and is designed to fit in the stock. one good thing about soviet made rifles is that they keep on working, are easy to maintain in any environment since they were made to be used by illiterate peasant conscripts.

I wanted this cleaning kit to complete my SKS rifle. The item was in decent shape as far as surplus items go....however the threads on the brush were damaged and won't thread onto my cleaning rod. This really isn't a big deal to me, however as I did not intend to actually use the brush.This can be expected with any surplus military items and I do not fault the seller/sender for this.The price was decent, and the shipping was fast! Thanks!

Surplus well used, pretty clean all parts there, my rod would only screw in about three threads don't know which is correct, as advertised, surplus item probably will never use, decent shape

Cleaned off the cosmoline and it slid right into my sks just like it was issued. All parts were in great condition, but you do need to clean it before use.

Exactly as described, though with a bit of cosmoline still on it, nothing a run through the dishwasher couldn't solve. All tools in picture included, threads on to the cleaning rod, and fits in the buttstock, what more can you ask for.

Kit received in decent condition. Still lots of cosmoline which cleaned off in 5 minutes. No big deal.But when I went to thread onto the cleaning rod, neither the Jag or the brush would work. In fact both had threads/diameters different from each other and neither matched the cleaning rod. Disappointed!Edit 7/7/20: Spoke with John and he had never had this issue. Asked that I send pics of my problem and cleaning rod. I decided to look closer at the rod. The end of the threads were smashed. I cleaned them up with a file, but they would still not thread onto the ESKS products. This was not the fault of the cleaning kit. I ended up rethreading both parts and it works. A little loose, but functional. I just didn't want to leave a negative review when it wasn't the fault of the product.
