A Valuable Resource
I love the Outdoor Life Series. This book was very difficult to put down once I started flipping the pages. Given this day and age of natural disasters, the material contained within is very informative, with lots of photographs to help identify various weather patterns. I like the way the natural occurrences are broken down by the season in which they are most likely to occur. Practical advise is given in easy and simple terms on what to do and what not to do in a given natural emergency. What I find most helpful is the way this book breaks down fact from truth on the various survival guidance we have been taught over time. This book is a valuable resource that I will gladly add to my gift list as something someone probably does not already have in their library.

I love Dennis Mersereau's approach to weather information -- factual
I love Dennis Mersereau's approach to weather information -- factual, science based, but written in a style that's fun to read and easy for a non-specialist to understand. This book is all that and more, with great photos, a logical seasonal organization and quality printing and binding. I ordered the first copy for myself, but seeing the actual book in print I'm already thinking of those it would make a great gift for.

Thumbs Way Up
I followed Dennis Mersereau when he wrote for The Vane and simply loved how he made weather and climate relatable and easy to understand for the layperson while never talking down to his readers. This book is no different. His writing is engaging, often humorous but, at the same time, conveys the urgency of extreme weather conditions and provides life saving information in a way that makes a lasting impression. If you live in an area that's plagued with unpredictable weather as I do or, if you just love reading well written, scientifically sound books about it, I highly recommend this one.
