Works well so far
This is a replacement for my previous one just like it that fortunately did its job and saved us electrical damage from an under powered outlet and then a faulty a/c unit which unfortunately took it down. Replacing it is worth the money compared to electrical damage costs

Outstanding customer service.
Had an issue with the surge protector. Our last camping trip when we were taking the utilities down we were unable to unplug the extension cord from the surge protector. I used a screwdriver to separate them and found that the extension cord male tine was discolored and the plastic it was seated in was showed a little melting. The female on the surge protector showed a little melting also. I emailed south wire and got an immediate response that it was covered under warrantee and to send it in. I told them that I was leaving on another camping trip in a week and a half. They indicated that they would to there best to get my replacement before we left. True to their word it did come before we left. I certainly will recommend south wire surge protectors to my friends!

This product works and works well
Bought this to replace the same product we had for our motorhome. Had a lightening strike that fried the other one; but had no damage to the coach. It did its job well. Noticed that the delay was not working on the damaged one, which is why I checked it and found it fried on the inside but still supplying power to the coach. Worked well for just over 6 years. It works as advertised (the new one). Had it out on the road and it detected a low voltage at one park and reversed polarity at another. The park staff fixed the reversed polarity on the spot. Would never leave home without one of these. The reason for protection from spikes and high voltage is obvious; however low voltage will do a great deal more damage and causes many more fires. Low voltage often results in higher amperage being drawn and increasing temperatures of connections and any resistance points. This product works.

Peace of Mind and accurate
Love the readout. Pre checks camper side and feed side before turning on.Was able to determine exact amp draw of a/c when it kicks on. 17 amps then drops significantly after start up.Also love it gives you the line voltage. For the price you can't go wrong. Low and high voltage shut off.1 board for controller on fridge almost 180$ diagnostic to find burnt board on another hundo or more. This is well worth getting just to avoid burning out any electronic components10/2018Update. This unit has saved my electronic 3 times already. Open ground. Reverse polarity. And voltage drop shut off.So glad I bought this unit.Would by it again if this unit went dead protecting my trailer.HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I know 5 other people using this unit and have had NO problems with the unit

A device worth the price!
I think I'm going to like this unit a lot. Not only does is protect my RV appliances much better than just a surge protector, but I love the voltage and amperage draw readouts - really tells the real story about how much electricity I'm drawing while protecting my unit from campground electrical supply problems! Worth the price! I've used it on only one trip so far, but it will be a permanent part of my camping setup. I damaged my old surge protector by inadvertently overloading it while running the air conditioner, water heater and refrigerator, lights and microwave all at one time - a total amp draw that was enough to overheat the plugin and start to melt it - I'm surprised the pedestal circuit breaker didn't open. The new unit has overheat protection and will shut down temporarily due to overheat, over/under voltage, surges, etc. - a good investment.

Obtained for the low voltage protection
The media could not be loaded. This will be used for my 30a 19 foot trailer. They are pushed hard by the major trailer mfgs due to the problems at SOME RV parks and campgrounds.I do not believe it is required for most places and so far the last few months theres been no observed electrical problems anywhere I've been. However now that i have something that will give me an accurate voltage at the plug in source i can test some places I've been when i go back. The under voltage is the reason i got it. Most state parks and decent camping areas dont have big electrical problems that otherwise would be detected by this that you couldn't get a lot cheaper with a meter or camco plug in device. The point of this device is thr automatic shutoff and reconnect for low or high voltage when a camping area is busy.I'll definitely update this later as it's put in useOCT 2021ETA: Fried one of the hot wire sides after just under three years of use. I'm not sure if that is good or bad but expensive every three years if this is the trend. It does still work though. But when I went to disconnect from the house while it was stored for 5 months under my carport with the AC set at 85F, one black wire plug was burnt. I had to buy a new RV cable too just in case it damaged that too. So I had to spend another 300 dollars on a new version, 34930, and a new RV power cord.Hope the new version lasts longer than three years!

May damage your gen
Stop using it. It kept shutting my generator down. Can't remember what the error was. But, eventually my generator broke down and stopped producing power, even though it kept running. I had to replace the generator.

You get what you pay for.
So far this device has worked as advertised. I like having the peace of mind knowing my RV is protected from high or low voltage, miswirings and surges. It even lets you know when the one time use surge protection device needs replacing.Be careful when shopping for these protection devices. Some only indicate miswirings, but still make connection, some don't indicate when the surge protection needs replacement, and most do not protect from low or high voltage.A delay is built is so if there is a brief interruption of power while your A/C is running, it'll wait 128 seconds before reapplying power to make sure the head pressure of your air conditioning has bled off. I also like seeing the LCD display of voltage and current.
