This is a great tool to keep in you car, I've never used a scanner but this scanner was self explanatory plug it in hit ok and it will give you the codes that are causing your check engine light to light up, you can also press on the code and then scanner will give you a brief description of the problem and how to fix it, it also will clear all codes for a fresh scan to see if you have fix the issues great easy tool to have and the software updates are free they supplied the correct cord to plug into your computer or laptop to install the new updated firmware when needed. I've dropped it a few times the durability is awesome not a scratch on it..

Had a check engine light for my Expedition, but seems like it was running fine. I’ve never tried one of these before, but it was easy to find the code and see what the issue was. Nothing serious, so cleared the code and so far it hasn’t come back. We’ll worth the money to save a trip to the mechanic.

While camping far from home, my "check engine" light came on. A friend had a code scanner which told me that the issue was minor and that the drive home would do no harm. What a relief!When I got home, my mechanic fixed the car and I bought my own code reader.

So far so good. Works the same as any other cheap reader. If you want one with more options, get a name brand one and spend a few more bucks but if you just want a basic reader to point you in the right direction this does the trick.

This code scanner comes without a physical user manual; this makes its use next to impossible for people who never used a scanner. Fortunately, there are good online tutorials available. To add a manual for gadgets like this one, detailed manuals should be obligatory.

This code reader has been fantastic. As a Smog Technician, I use it on every vehicle to make check the status of the monitors. It’s easy to navigate, and would be useful and a generic code reader, if a check engine light appeared. I saw some live data but have not needed to use it yet. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking to read codes when a check engine light is present.
