Lovely but also disappointing
There are pros and cons with Johanna's latest book. There are some lovely pages to colour and whilst I am pleased I purchased it, I was disappointed that there are just too many pages filled with a plethora of exceptionally tiny items. So many miniscule ephemera are exceedingly boring to colour in. This also applies to a lot of other pages which have around twenty single images on a page. Sadly, unlike all Johanna's other truly fantastic books, with this book there are only a few pages I am truly excited to colour and regrettably many I just can't be bothered with.I really miss Johanna's wonderful pages that she used to produce in all her other books and which also gave opportunity to colour imaginative atmospheric backgrounds. Its as if she is now directing her books more towards people who can only colour in one or two small single disparate objects at a time and unfortunately this means the book then stoops to accommodate mostly those people. Maybe it’s time for a book of tiny ephemera crammed in on every page for one group of people or children and a separate book full of wonderful double page spreads for colourists! Having tested the paper of the latest book I find it takes Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils very well, but watercolour pencils not so much, unlike the other books, it bleeds through, as does blending fluid and pens. What I do love about Rooms of Wonder however, is the new venture into Steampunk, these pages are absolutely brilliant, thank you, Johanna. There are also still some lovely imaginative pages like the outdoor rooms with lots of flowers.

Love this book so much
So happy that I ordered this. The book has something for everyone. I love the treehouse with a window looking out to see houses, yet the treehouse is open within the woods. Lots to enjoy looking at the images, beautiful details such as an armchair in the countryside with a teapot attached to a branch! It's captivating and a delight to enjoy. Takes your mind off things and into a fantasy world of imagination and dreams. My favourite book of Johanna's, also love Worlds of Wonder too. Thanks Johanna for a very special book which brings happiness :)
