I read this to my husband every morning before he leaves for work and we both get emotional.

I got this for my son. Great book, just like I remember it as a kid.

This little book is beautiful with great illustrations for young readers. I purchased this story for my granddaughter.

I can't wait to read this classic book to my two grandchilden. My daughter enjoyed this book as a child, and I know my grandchilden will also enjoy this book, as I'll enjoy reading it to them

I understand they are still using the original or "classic" printing, but couldn't they at LEAST color the "yellow ducklings" yellow??? The story SAYS the ducklings are YELLOW. Explain that to your kid at bedtime and get back to me. That comes off as cheap in my opinion and not what you'd expect with a trusted brand like Golden Books. The story, of course, is riveting and dramatic in a child's eyes. My son and daughter LOVE this story about an outcast who finds his way home. Required reading for ANY child.

I had these books as a young child and it is nice that I can buy them for my grandchild to enjoy.

It's a bit of an outdated story in the age of ultra-inclusivity, but I think it's important for kids to know about it.That said, the copy I received is defective. The "yellow as butter" ducklings are not coloured, just white like the "ugly" duckling. The ducklings are coloured yellow in later pages but in all the important ones they are just white. I'm not sure how that happened, but it makes the illustrations very confusing to follow.Aside from that glaring issue, the book is good quality.
