Really, really, really good
I purchased This as my first hot-swappable key input device. I originally paired it alongside my music-making equipment to speed up my production workflow, and now I am configuring it to complement my new split ortholinear board that I'm building. This was the macro pad that convinced me to dive even deeper into mechanical keyboards. In case you're just here for a macro pad and not a new hobby, I'll tell you all of the other things that makes this great. The included switches are pretty good. They are smooth and have a good weight. The only issue, and this is on Gateron's end, is that weight can feel inconsistent from switch to switch. The included milky keycaps feel solid and thick, and they diffuse the RGB across the entire keycap. They are an excellent starter set, and you can swap them out any time you like thanks to the sockets. There's all USB-C all over with a removeable cable which is great for portability and repairability or doing custom cable runs. This is a sandwich-style case common in hand-built boards, but it's smooth, slick, and uses countersunk screws which makes it small and lightweight. The sound is very balanced and satisfying. This is not a quiet pad. You really hear the bottom-outs. That's not a bad thing, but bear that in mind if you plan to use this in a quiet place.Lastly is VIA/QMK support. I'm a blind programmer and hobbyist musician, and no matter what I'm doing, I'm always in need of more buttons. Macro pads are great, but programming them has always been impossible since they all use fancy visual interfaces. Anything that runs VIA is running that on top of QMK, and that means you can program this macro pad with code, not clicks. I have a bit of vision which lets me enjoy RGB lightshows, but it's not enough to use a mouse. I had to learn a bit of C and the QMK documentation, but not only have I understood the basics, I've been adding my own custom layers, and programming my own macros to perform complex actions with a single keystroke no matter what machine I plug my board into. If you have a friend who's a keyboard nerd or you are that keyboard nerd, you should get this for that keyboard nerd. If you want a reasonably-priced macro pad that's easy to program, buy this and load up VIA in your web browser. If you're curious about the world of custom mechanical keyboards like I was and are considering this to dip your toe into the water, go ahead. Give it a try. Worst case is you end up with a great macro pad. There is one thing that disappointed me. Upon flashing my new layout onto the macro pad, I lost the original animations and can no longer get them back. They looked a lot better than the ones I ended up with after flashing the firmware.

Nice cheap USB c macropad
I picked up this macropad to sit on the side of a tenkeyless keyboard, so that I can move it around independently from the main keyboard, especially when I don't nee it but might need the extra spaceThis thing is almost a perfect macropad (for what it is), but falls short in one strange way. it's a 3x3 macropad so unfortunately you don't replace a full 0-9 numpad with it, which is kind of a shame. It's still useful as is though, it's just not as ideal for my purpose--but I can't hold that against the thing, I bought a 3x3 and I got a 3x3.For the very reasonable price, the feature set is actually pretty solid. It uses hot swappable switches, it can be remapped using VIA software, it uses USB-c, and it even has LEDsThere are two small nitpicks with it that keep it from being perfect for what it is. First, I had used this as a tester guy keyboard switches, and I found the sound profile to be completely inaccurate to my eventual main keyboard. That's kind of expected, but it made choosing what switches to buy a little bit harder. The real head scratcher, though, is that 8 of the 9 switch sockets supports 5 pins. The last one supports only 3 pins.So if you want to use a 5-pin set, you'll need to modify one switch to cut off the plastic pins and convert it to a 3-pin. Do-able, but not ideal.Like I said, with all of the above in consideration, it's really hard to knock this pad at all. The price feels like a steal to me, and it seems worth grabbing

The literal easy button x9
Out of the box this thing rocks. The configuration works flawlessly with (caniusevia) VIA in my testing. The LEDs are bright and adjustable with VIA. No specifications needed to be downloaded and I was using macros in less than 5 minutes on both Mac and Windows systems. Came with a usb A to C cord, switch and keycap puller. I may dabble with different switches and keycaps, both are swappable. Easy to use and a great value.

Great Macropad
Programmable with VIA, through their web interface! I didn't need to download any software.I've never programmed a macropad before, and it took me about 10 minutes or less to figure it out.The Gateron Pro yellows feel great (linear switch). Build quality is good.Definitely better than paying 100+ for a macropad from other companies.

Great keypad, arrived broken
Arrived with 7 key not working. Had to take it apart and unbend the terminal. Can't tell if I'll also have to resolder the socket laterExtremely easy to program with Via online. Love the product, but it should have worked fully out of the box

Ive used this about a month now and its pretty solid, easily programable with via. i swapped my own switches in for preference. its responsive and the leds are bright. i just wish there was more options in LED pattern

Most useful thing i've ever bought
Bought it in January, and ever since it has been my favorite thing on my desk. Firstly, for the value, it is insanely high quality, and has a very nice braided cable included. Its USB-C, and the keycaps are excellent.Only thing i can say though is the switches that come in it are linear and have a pretty heavy spring so its not very easy if i lightly press it to know if it registered or not. (I am going to swap them out soon)I bought it because i needed a way to switch between just every day things like playing and skipping songs, to mapping in games and software. And VIA works very well for that. Only thing i can say is even with the very helpful review that shows how to program it and flash the firmware, it was a little confusing to get setup. I did learn after a couple hours though, and i quickly figured out what i could and couldnt do with VIA. Overall, great value and insanely useful.

Hellacious to program update Feb 2022
I bought two for more convenient short cuts on my computers. The one I could get to work, required just a ton of different applications and libraries to set up the device. The instructions are just nutty, broken, discombobulated English. It’s incoherent.I was excited because I was lead to believe I could put the macros onto the device and use it on any computer, where it would execute the commands I programmed onto it.I didn’t even get close… it’s just a rabbit hole toooooooo deeeeeeeep.UpdateAfter some conversation with the seller. I decided to make them an instruction which I have attached as a picture. The build quality is excellent and shortcuts can be added to most any applications.I bought this for excel and CAD. And am very pleased with it once I figured out how to program the bloody thing. See my pictures for simple instructions and the seller will be using them as well.Last, certainly there is a lot more complicated programming you can do and it’s a deep hole of features you can add… it’s up to you.
