AWESOME Tool For Its Intended Purpose!
CORONA Long-Reach PrunerReceived in good condition---NO visible signs of damage or descrepancies.First time I tried it, as soon as I unpacked it, and put it to use.PERFORMED GREAT!What a great tool. Performed as expected. The long-reach design is very usefull reaching deeped and further out.Cut and trimmed small twigs to larger branches up to 1/4", on woody plants---as well as vines, pruning bushes and the like. Able to reach into bushes to clean out the dead branches---worked PERFECT. The gripping feature is the BEST--- simply reach-in---cut-n-grip---pull-it-out---can't ask for anything better. This is a "BYPASS style" pruner vs an "anvil type" which is more powerful (akin to a lopper for cutting larger branches). Thanks to CORONA for developing such a useful tool.NOTETried it on branches 3/8 to 1/2"---this IS NOT the tool for such branch size. This is a light-duty tool (as advertized). Need to use a suitable size lopper with long handles to obtain greater leverage. One cannot apply adequate hand-clamping force to perform the task of cutting larger branches, with this tool. It's not intended for this purpose.Think of this tool as and "hand pruner" with a long handle. The branch size of a 1/2", as depicked in the literature, is there for reference to show how much the cutter opens up---it needs to open up this far to get the leverage needed to cut smaller branches more easily.NOTE hand pruners have a large opening; however, a large branch of a 1/2" cannot be cut with only your hand.NOTEThe cutter blade and anvil should be inserted to full-depth, on any the branch, to be effective.Cutting with just the tip-end is only for trimming for small twigs, like on rose bushes, soft plants, and the like.BTW---I do lots of tree and bushes trimming and pruning and have a large variety of tools for this purpose---from power driven to hand tools. Long pole telescoping and extendable loppers, long pole-saws to 21ft. Pruning hand saws. Loppers 15" to 36". Several types of hand pruners. As well as chain saws, branch and limb power trimmers---gas and cordless.

6 stars for ease of use, featherlike function. Works great with invasive vines like wisteria and wild grape.
The magic of the "hold"! I acquired this to trim wisteria growing from my neighbors side of a north-south 8' foot wood slat fence. I had been using a variety of tools prior -- a two foot Fiskar's loper, a pole saw, sometimes even a ladder and hedge trimmers. That wisteria! It is a constant invader and grows almost as fast as kudzu. For thirty years it has been a constant summer blight, so bad that I cut every bit of it on my side of the fence, which caused much on my neighbor's side to be killed too. The vine grows from their side to mine, then back to theirs -- it grows everyway possible! To me it's an invasive weed, to them a prized summer foliage. The high growth cuts the light off from plantings on our side of the fence, turning the fence side area into a weed garden. The neighbors replanted a much nicer vine -- a vine form of hydrangea, with a much better habit that hugs the fence far more, and is not invasive. But that old wisteria -- it never died. It's still there and it's coming back.Corona's "Cut 'n' Hold" however makes quick and neat work of it. I can easily top off that invader's many long tendrils. The hold feature -- a function of the fat plastic blade housing, cleverly engineered to hold the cut pieces, and drop them off four-five feet away from the fence and fence-side plantings. This tool feels like nothing -- featherweight, no sense of any top heaviness like the pole cutter. The cutting handle mechanism is easy too, lighter than the squeeze on a screen door latch. The next thirty years will be the better for this tool.I've used it on raspberry bramble, wild grape. and some other weed stems. No problem. It really can't handle much over a 1/8" stick of older wood-like vine. On young soft vine, yeah it could cut up to a 1/4". But the incredible ease and function of this tool in use make up for that shortcoming. No reason for vine to get that think and gnarly with this magic tool around. Clean up is easy because you can easily pile up the cuttings with the hold feature.Would give it 6 stars if that was possible.

Good for cutting soft green stems, not for pruning woody stems
I bought these for deadheading my tuiips and daffodils in the spring, without having to step into the soft garden soil and crush the other plants, which are just starting to grow, They work fine for this task, but when I tried to deadhead my miniature roses, the stems were too woody, and the clippers took 2 or 3 cuts to get thru the stem. The clippers have a grab feature: there are plastic attachments on the blades, and I can pick up the deadheaded blossom heads by gently closing the clippers on them, so the garden doesn't look messy.Pleased with this device, it does exactly what I bought it for.

[review edited] Amazingly...
...useful tool. I have been gardening for more than 20 years, I'm bummed I didn't buy this earlier.[ED: The handle that pulls the mechanism is plastic - pulling steel cable - it broke after a couple of weeks of use. One side of the part is weaker to have a slot to install the cable through; that side broke. The slot's position and the shape of the part could be improved. Ideally that area should be steel.]Not only can you reach up, but (obviously) down and away; and you can stick it into places you couldn't stick your hand and tool and arm; and (if you want) you can take the cut bit back out.[ED: I will use the replacement Amazon has kindly provided only for soft stems.]

Great product
This product is really easy to use but it does get a little heavy after a while.

It depends what you want to do with it
The plastic "hold" elements are fine if grabbing the material that has been pruned is all important. But their presence makes it difficult to place the cutting edges precisely for an optimal pruning cut. It cost me over £10 to return the item!!

Fine for light work with a handy reach
They work and nice reach, but for light work. Handy for spot pruning roses.

Cutting To The Chase and Capturing The Trims.
It fulfills its purpose admirably with the exception of a clean cut on 1/2" dia. Maple Tree saplings which, in and of itself is really demanding, and the relatively modest leverage afforded by the handle serves to define the extent of the utility of this tool. The convenience afforded by the grabbing feature is also much to be appreciated. Pity that the lopping shears that I use for backing up my pruning, obviously with an eye to using the right tool for the job at hand, doesn't have the capacity to secure a grip on the larger branches that by times require attention.
