🎃👻 Book #5 for #Halloween2021 🎃👻"Pieces: An Extreme Horror" by Matt Shaw💥Please proceed with caution in regards to this read as it is an extreme horror novel and NOT for the faint of heart💥"A car's lock is clearly nothing more than an illusion of safety."After a quick romp in the sheets with his favorite whore Sherry, Billy arrives home to discover his wife isn't there. His frustration soon turns to paranoia when the next morning he still hasn't heard from her but his text messages to her are showing they've been read. Now Billy isn't sure where his wife has actually gone but he's certain the letter he just received from the mail has to be a joke. Is his wife actually dead and in pieces, left strung about throughout the city? Will this mysterious letter really frame him for murder if he doesn't do what it says? Surely, this is a sick joke... surely...This is an excellent story about the cons of cheating and why you're simply better off working through your problems versus creating news ones. I swore I had the ending figured out twice only to realize I wasn't even close. 4 🌟

Good Airport Read
As a huge fan of Matt Shaw, the moment a new book is up for a read I am all for it! Perfect reading material to keep me busy and intrigued while waiting at the airport. The story has a great pace.

Guess Again
PIECES by Matt Shaw is not necessarily extreme, just sexually graphic in a few places. In fact, I would describe this as more mystery-thriller than anything else, and the author does a great job of mixing crime-drama and suspense into a traumatic rollercoaster for both readers and the main character. Not only does the story flash back and forth in time, offering some insight into Billy's way of thinking, but the POV also offers a glimpse into the thoughts of those who know Billy. I'm not a fan of jumping around on a timeline, but Shaw's transitions are easy to follow, while keeping the ending unpredictable. If I had to compare this to any of his previous stories, I'd choose FROM THE FLAMES. The two have similar writing styles. Definitely recommending this novella.

Gory
Loved the plot. Never saw the end and I usually have an idea at least. Had to finish it in one sitting. Been along time since I've experienced that.

Pieces
I truly enjoy reading the writings of Matt, but quite honestly, this one I found a little boring. To me, there wasn't the edge of the seat, can't put it down, that the others I've read had. It's good like the others, but still missing that ''something''.

a story I couldn’t put down.
Another good story from Matt Shaw. I figured out some of the ending but the ending definitely took a twist to it. A ending I wasn’t expecting.

Wowza!!!
What a twisted story! There wasn't a boring moment in this story and I kept trying to figure out how it was going to end. Well, I was wrong about the ending, which is great. I enjoy being tricked.

Great read
This is a great read, not an extreme horror as I thought , but still a good story. The characters were good and I thought they all melded together really well. This is one of them stories that once you start you can't seem to stop. And the next time you look up with throat parched or bowels bursting, you look at the clock and a few hours have passed, so much so you right near the end of the book and you continue til it's done. Definitely worth checking out. I'd recommend to any horror or thriller fan.

As always a good read
As always a good read with a twist you’re not expecting at the end.Main character is a slime ball who gets taken on a journey of suffering just what he deserves!A couple of typos spotted but doesn’t spoil anything

Another excellent piece of work from Matt Shaw!
I’ve not read any extreme horror for a while,so was a little unsure of how easily I would slide back into the genre. However,I need not have worried,as Matt Shaw once again took me by the hand and led me over the first few bumps,by which time I was so immersed in the story that I couldn’t put it down until I’d got to the end. Cracking story, great character building and enough twists and turns to keep your attention all the way through.

Not Extreme horror.
I was disappointed with this book, as a Richard laymon fan, I enjoy a good horror story.Matt Shaw was an author recommended, because I had read a Laymon story. I'm not convinced by his writing, not horror, just tale with sex.
