Dark Tahini, tastes more like sesame
I didn't know there was a dark style tahini until I opened this. I thought the seeds might have been burned or old, so I searched web for "dark tahini" to see if it was a thing, et voila! Dark tahini includes the sesame seed hulls. Okay. Cool.It tastes unmistakably, potently of sesame, whereas light tahinis I've eaten (Al Arz, Soom...) taste more generically nutty. This has a well-homogenized texture and is easy to pour, which is not to say it's thin, but it's not like those annoying grocery brands with a hard one-inch clump on the bottom and an inch of oil on top. Still, shake well before opening and refrigerating the first time.Because Karawan is stronger tasting, but still pleasant, I need less, particularly when creating a sauce.
