Truck Unfriendly
OK, have had this GPS for over a year now, will list pitfalls and advantages.Pitfalls:1. Screen size used up with useless information, One of the most important things a Truck driver needs is to know if what direction you are heading, there is no N/S/E/W Available. I have gotten directions hundreds of times... take exit xxx and head North... well would be nice to know what direction I am heading at the time.2. Nearby POI's .... Horrible, Horrible, Horrible ... Almost 100% of directions to Truck stops are wrong.. menu gives you no options as to what you need fuel...etc3.Memory issues, GPS locks up about once a week because of lack of memory, also if searching for a POI along your route, it locks up every time, will only do a search for nearby POI's.4.Chicago... almost enough said right there, if you have not ever ran downtown Chicago, stay away, Low bridges abound, truck restricted routes and this GPS will NOT get you to where you need to go in Chicago, I gave up after being stuck at a low bridge and GPS saying restricted routes and would not navigate me to deliveries.5.Don't stop, GPS can only work if you are moving (has to see direction of travel) however this model takes several minutes to figure out where you are after a stop, in the mean time it uses oldest location to direct you, needless to say, lots of wrong turns.6.Map updates... yippee...well almost, if you want to update, there are 2 tiny problems, one you have already spent way to much on this model to get a large screen, so, they charge you more for the same software used on the smaller models and if you update it wipes out all your saved locations. I have a lot of them.7.Will not allow you to save a route, even though if you run to certain locations, you know a faster / easier route to run, no way to save this information.8.Multiple stop feature does not work, when you get to the current stop you have to start from scratch.9.Map drawings done by 3rd grader, very hard to see / read maps they give you several options of map types, none of them any better.Because I have used multiple GPS's it appears that there is only 1 map company and every GPS has the same issues, However each company adds their own features and makes you think they are the best. So when looking for a GPS, look for Memory and latest map updates and that will probably be the best way to go.OH yea advantages,1. Safety display, I really like tis feature, blue background with text for miles to next turn, nothing moving, no distractions, Changes to scrolling map within a mile of your turn.Final review, by a car GPS for a much better price, both will normally get you close to location, none will get you exactly to where you want to go.

PRETTY GOOD GPS PART II
I DRIVE A TT IN THE MD/DC/VA AREA AND AM ON I95 AND THE AREAS IT REACHES ALL WEEK. I USED THIS UNIT FOR 2 DAYS, ABOUT 25-30 ADDRESSES. IT MADE 2 MISTAKES AND HUNG ME UP. I DONT KNOW IF THATS GOOD OR BAD AS IVE NEVER USED ONE BEFORE. THE SCREEN IS NICE AND BIG AND THE VOICES YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM ARE EASILY UNDERSTOOD. CANT SAY IF ITS BETTER TO CALL FOR DIRECTIONS OR KEEP USING THIS. IT COMES IN HANDY AFTER HOURS WHEN DIRECTIONS CANT BE GOTTEN OVER THE PHONE. I GUESS THE BEST THING I CAN VOLUNTEER IS THAT IF YOU EXPECT PERFECTION AND FLAWLESS DIRECTIONS- I CANT RECOMMEND IT. BUT IF YOU WANT AN EASILY UNDERSTOOD " LIL HELPER " AND $400 DOESNT FRIGHTEN YOU- THIS WORKS UNDER THOSE PARAMETERS.

hard to manage, didn't have the updated roads and info so it wouldn't bring up many of the addresses I needed, when we tried to update it on a computer it wouldn't let us into it to update it unless we had windows 10 I think it was and that was not an option for us. As an OTR truck driver I then ordered a new GPS from Garmin thats working tremendously. Found out later that another so-driver had the same problem with the exact same one he bought that he sent back as he still had his info to return his.

Pro Driver GPS
This is everything they say I have now owned three PC Milers the first one I dropped after 18 months, The second was stolen this one works fine as did the others I have no complaints. I have heard people talk about them and I find their opinion to be biased and unfounded most likely they give bad reviews because they were suckered into paying nearly twice as much on the competitor model and simply do not want to admit they made a mistake. PC Miler has served me extremely well since 2010 I experienced one software glitch which was immediately sent to me in email to repair a file on the enclosed SD card.

Pretty good GPS
I used this GPS to drive from CT to SC in a motorhome. It was better than expected. I also own a Magellan and a Roadmax. The PC Miler has a better screen and loud speaker. Maps are good and it saved me a lot of trouble by intelligently routing me to avoid areas of known heavy traffic. It's verbal instructions are very intelligible and complete. The user interface is a little hard to navigate so you have to spend some time learning how to use it. It is the best GPS I have ever seen for RVs and trucks, as well as cars. In truck/RV mode it allows you to specify the size of your rig so it can avoid low overpasses and roads that are off limits to large vehicles. In RV mode it knows to avoid tunnels that do not allow propane tanks. It also knows which Parkways allow RVs. I recommend it.

More than does the job
The PC Miler 740 has performed at an excellent level, I used it on two commercial trips transporting items for private and business owners, The unit briught me into upstate connecticut, around the tolls in New York and to the Washington D.C. area in a slightly longer time frame than if I had driven directly through New York, I am very happy with it's performance and would recommend the Pc Miler to any serious traveler or especially any trucker who needs a steady reliable unit......Bob

PC Miler 740
I bought this unit primarily for the large screen, but the dimensions are a bit misleading because nearly a quarter of the screen is lost to displaying information that other brands merely overlay on the screen. The operating parameters are somewhat limited, such as that it isn't really intuitive to enter waypoints, and customizing a route is not easily done. There's no reason that a device such as this can't automatically determine when you go from one time zone to the next and update ETA's to reflect this, but it doesn't. The information displayed on the screen isn't truly customizeable, or at least the choices are rather arbitrary and are not what I would choose. I've also had difficulty in getting accurate directions from this unit. I'm used to using GPS's from another vendor, and there's quite a steep learning curve associated with this one. It may be that it is just a matter of my learning how to use the it, but right now I really wish I'd bought a unit from another manufacturer instead.
