Seller is awesome! (Amended review)
So we loved this product the first few weeks. It was a birthday present for our son. Then unfortunately it stopped working! It was not dropped or moved from the table it sat on. I have contacted the seller to discuss. I will update this review after hearing from the seller.Update- The seller contacted me less then 24hrs after I contacted them to inform them that it stopped working. They are sending me a new one free of charge! My son says give this place 6 stars!!! THANK YOU! Highly Recommend!

Bought as a birthday gift and was totally embarrased
I got this for my son's 8th birthday, when I removed it I was surprized by how light and cheap it felt, it's the cheapest kind of plastic and it felt very hollow. It had the feeling of one of those old plastic gumball machines you would get for a couple dollars at walmart. Plugged it in with my son excited to see the cool lightning and it literally just went poof and let the smoke out. Something inside it shorted out and we never got to see any lights. What a birthday let down.

UPDATE 2.25.2019 - Wow! Less than a week after I wrote the initial review, below, I received a beautiful, new unit. In my mind, that is extraordinary customer service. Loved the initial Plasma Ball and really appreciate the company's integrity in offering a replacement without me even requesting it. Impressive.INITIAL REVIEW: When this works, it is very cool. Even though we had ours on display where it couldn't be touched or bumped, it simply stopped working after 4 months. Disappointing and way too expensive for such a short life span.

May explode unexpectedly!
I bought this for my kids so they could see something different and experience how much fun these could be. Both my kids had one turn touching it before I turned it off. Then later on we turned it on again. (I had placed it on the kids table in my dining room). My son went to touch it again when it exploded right in front of him! Thankfully he was not hurt! I will not be buying one of these again.

More than a toy!!
My 12 year old son got this for his birthday and he loves it. In fact, all the children in the neighborhood love it! lol My son is on the spectrum for autism, so he really gets a kick out of the sensory aspect of it. He has conducted all kinds of experiments with it and it was even cool to see him get territorial about it. He made sure to tell everyone that it was his. He really likes playing with it before bed, putting his ear to it and different objects. Just glad we found a toy he really enjoys because he is really unique to shop for. Also, its really connected him socially with boys his age, which is always a challenge, but it seems this has created an avenue for them to get to know him!! Oh and we love using it for Jam Sessions, when we play music and have a dance party.

Quick response from Amazon and seller
This arrived earlier than anticipated. I work in a STEM middle and bought this to display in my library along side a book about Tesla and description of how it works. The kids absolutely loved it! The library is well lit so I had to turn off one light so it could be seen. Voice response worked well. It was great, but.....It stopped working after 4 days. 😧. I was actually able to call Amazon and talk to a human (imagine that) they asked if I wanted a refund or replacement. As much as we all loved it, I was afraid i would get another that would play out. I chose a refund. Money was back in my account the same day. I would still encourage buyers to take a chance. It’s a great item. Sometimes you just get a dud.

Works but a feels a bit cheap
For the most part this is a very nice plasma ball. Works well, looks good, and a nice size. My sole complaint is that it feels cheap, for lack of a better word. It's very light. It would be better if it were constructed like my very first plasma ball back in the 80's where the transformer was built into the base and the power cord went straight to the wall. By moving the transformer to a brick feeding 12v power into the base that weight is removed from the base and makes it feel top heavy. Not an issue if you're setting it on a shelf out of the way of passing children, cats, etc. But it feels like it would be very easy to knock over so keep that in mind.

Doesn't stay 'active' for long
Bought this just as a desk gizmo; something to zone out will looking at it.When I first got it, there were a bunch of tendrils coming out to the globe; However,as days went by, fewer and fewer tendrils. Now I basically have 2 hits, one to the top ofthe globe, and the other that goes straight down the coil. I've cleaned the globe, and nothing changes.Putting hands still works, but it's just not very 'active' anymore.
