Best Chainsaw Helmet on the Market!
I absolutely love this Chainsaw Helmet. What a great item! I purchased this based on Oregon's legendary reputation and having owned their Chainsaw Chaps and Chainsaw chains. I was not disappointed. This helmet exceeded my expectations!First let's talk Fit. I have a very large head - I wear a 2xl cap size and 7 3/4 hat size in fedoras and cowboy hats. So, I wasn't sure this would fit - but it does fit with room to spare! The inner liner retention system was already installed and is fully adjustable. I just turned the dial and voila, a perfect fit!Now let's talk quality. This thing is very durable. Yes it's plastic, but it super-hard and thick, and is built like a construction helmet. It has an extra ridge at top to help deflect impacts and breather hole vents to keep your noggin cool. The mesh screen shield is awesome. It is steel mesh, unlike others that are cheap flimsy vinyl or plastic. I compared this to a Stihl helmet, ant the Stihl helmet was like a kid's play toy compared to this Oregon model, which is superior. The steel mesh screen shield in my opinion is superior to a solid clear plastic one, because in the past, I've had the solid clear plastic ones fog up in cool weather - not something you want to have happen while you're handling a dangerous tool like a chainsaw! But this steel mesh one is fully breathable, and durable. You can also see clearly out of it. I can read through it, which states to its clarity. The earmuffs are great for multiple reasons. Of course, to dampen out noise from chainsaws. But even if you're running a much quieter electric chainsaw, these earmuffs work to both keep your ears warm in cold environments, and most importantly, they keep your helmet retained on your head better than a chinstrap. With them on, your helmet is strapped tight to your head and won't come off in case you are struck by impact, or are leaning down, bending over, looking up, etc.All in all, I give this Oregon Helmet 5-Stars. If you are on the fence about getting one of these, I highly recommend this helmet over all others. It's well worth the price, and you can't put a price on your life or safety.

Cut down a tree!
Nice helmet, fits well and provides great protection. I use a electric chain saw so hearing protection is not that important, but it does seem to work well. Face shield is ventilated nicely as well, so you don't have to worry about fogging. Well made and recommended!

Light weight and comfortable
Easy to assemble and use. I haven’t had major blows (thankfully). Stays on and easy to adjust. Although a chin strap would be a good addition. Visor is thin, but has held up thus far. Ear guards help keep the hat in place and protect hearing adequately. My only negative is that it gets dirty and doesn’t wipe of easily. Good value.

Nice Set-up Especially for the Price
Much better quality and function than expected. Was expecting much less for the money but after putting together and using multiple times, I am a definite fan. I have a larger head and its still fits comfortably. The ear covers work well and are on steel wire mounts so they fit tightly and comfortably and stay snug during use and they really help to keep the hat snugly in position when moving and bending a lot. The face shield is very well designed and highly effective. Multiple detent positions so it stays flipped up or down as needed. I still use safety glasses under for when I flip it up. Despite other reviews, it took me less than 2 minutes to fully assemble. Not complicated. Highly recommend the Oregon.

Good protective equipment.
Liked it. Did the job. Wood chips everywhere and not a one in my eyes. Good job. Like the crank headliner too.

Inexpensive and sturdy
Best helmet system yet. I've used two Stihl and one Husqvarna helmet system, but they are all flimsy compared to this setup. It's also less than half the price!

Good Functional Safety Helmet. Suspension, Face Shield, Ear Muffs All Adjustable.
This is a good functional safety helmet. The helmet suspension has 6 points of support and a dial to adjust the fit. The dial adjustment is very handy especially if you sometimes wear a hat under the helmet. The helmet I received came with a wire mesh face screen. It has 3 positions: fully raised, fully lowered, and partially lowered. I believe the partially lowered position is there to allow you to move the bottom of the screen up and away from your chest when you are looking down while sawing, as when cutting a falling notch. The screen on this helmet is large compared to other helmets I have used and the mesh is finer. I like both features. The ear muffs are suspended on 2 wires and give a tight fit that helps to hold the helmet in place. I bent the wires outward a little bit to reduce the pressure that the ear muffs apply to the ear and head. The assembly instructions seem to indicate that this is intended by the design, but as another reviewer has noted, the "pictures only" instructions are not very clear.I found the helmet to be easy to assemble. Everything was there and it all fit together fine. The ear muffs and face screen assembly are very straightforward, but the instructions for the suspension installation are not clear. I have provided a few pictures showing the helmet assembled, with detail on the suspension assembly. If you have trouble interpreting the mystery glyphs on the instructions, the pictures might make more sense. The helmet suspension has 2 pieces. The first is a band that runs across the helmet with anchors near each ear. Assemble that so that the band is located closer to the top of the helmet rather than towards the bottom of the helmet. The second suspension piece has 4 anchor points, each connected to the suspension band by a strip. You have to fold that strip in half before attaching the suspension anchors to the helmet. The dial adjuster should be located toward the rear and center of the helmet. The fabric band on the suspension goes toward the front center.I did not use any tools assembling the helmet but it took some force to get everything to go together.
