A great story with some important life lessons!
This story is about friends and friendship - along with responsibility and sharing. A children's story that is perfect for adults that teaches important life lessons using a Badger who is a self important rock collector and a Skunk who arrives at Badger's door with an introduction from Badger's aunt. What happens in the next 122 pages is hilarious and thoughtful.. I read it more than once - my book club read and discussed it and loved it. This purchase is for a dear friend. Grab a copy! You'll enjoy it! Share it with friends!

Sweet, worthwhile book
Made me smile several times. Some excellent messages (on the subject of giving a chicken to the stoat mail carrier to eat, Skunk points out it is impossible, as “Chickens are their own chickens”) and a very endearing ending in the form of a new beginning for Rocket Potato. I am extraordinarily picky about books, but I highly recommend this one.

Quaint and Charming
I purchased this book both as a gift to my nephew who's quite fond of skunks & other woodland creatures, and also because I myself was somewhat drawn in by its seemingly whimsical premise. After reading it we both agree that this is a wonderful little tale which endears the reader with its playfully odd way of telling its story, along with the awkward yet entertaining interactions between the two main characters. It reads not unlike a classic book of similar subject matter akin to "The Wind in the Willows", but with a modern spin, which we felt struck a nice balance that made the writing straightforward yet engaging. The only criticism we have had about the book is that it feels a bit short and thus feels a tiny amount rushed in some parts, but perhaps this is to be expected for a book made to be accessible to younger readers, and if there are sequels then that may remedy the issue. All in all, a lovely book to get for a young loved one who enjoys stories about quirky animal folk - or really for anyone who might enjoy a bit of lighthearted fun reading such a tale.

Wonderful Story!
This is a beautifully written book. Informative. Imaginative. Charming. Touching. Enjoy it along with the child/children you are reading with. A child of six or seven can enjoy it if you read aloud. A child of about nine or older can read it alone. But reading together is worthwhile because you can look up rocks and chickens and enjoy this wonderful book more deeply.

These animals taught me a thing or two
Skunk and Badger is a wonderful tale. The little ones hearing it and the older children reading it for themselves will laugh and worry and try to guess what will happen next. And the adults reading aloud? We will see ourselves, the noble and the not so noble bits. We will find ourselves hoping that the people we wish to be will be reflected in how these two wonderful, quirky characters learn to live together and appreciate each other. And we will absorb a whole lot about rocks and chickens in the process.

A Read Aloud Favorite!
This book has been one of my favorite read aloud stories. Witty and endearing with humor sprinkled throughout. My 5 year old loved it. She was engaged and the science thrown in led to some very fun research.

A Fun Read
Skunk and Badger will soon become one of the classic "odd couples" in children's literature, much like Frog and Toad or Elephant and Piggie. If you’re looking for an early middle-grade book to read with the kids, this is a great one. Good read-aloud for the youngest, easy for the independent readers. And as per usual, Jon Klassen's illustrations add to the fun. And it’s funny!Words by Amy Timberlake and illustrations by Jon Klassen

Cómico y creativo.
Un cuento muy creativo y lleno de escenas graciosas. Ideal para lectores jóvenes. Nos ayuda a reflexionar y a no juzgar a las personas antes de conocerlas.

An excellent book
I bought this on the basis of a glowing review in the Sunday Times and, having now read it to my seven-year-old daughter, am delighted with the purchase. It is a very witty, original and charming story, laden with absurdities; in terms of language development for a child, it also presents a satisfying challenge. But above all, it is great fun to read (aloud).

Beautiful read
A beautiful and heart warming story. A story unveiling the importance of Friendship, kindness and giving priority to the most meaningful matters in life. Also a fun read especially whilst read aloud.
