A very nice, handsome razor handle
This is, as stated, a very nice, handsome razor handle. Well made, well finished. Can't help but to notice that several of the negative reviews refer to "quality of shave" which has absolutely nothing to do with the handle. It all depends on the quality of the blades you are using (and I, too, have noticed the recent decline in quality of the Gillette Mach 3 blades). So blame Gillette and not the handle. As for the complaint about the wood finish of the handle, mine is perfect.

Adds a touch of class to your morning shave
This is really all about adding some nice elegance to your shaving and it does the job. You can tell it's real wood, it feels good in the hand. Exactly what I was hoping for. I bought the version that fits Gillette razors so the shave is the same as you'd expect for any of their products, just a classier more elegant handle.

Dollar shave club eat your heart out
First time with a safety razor. Was very apprehensive but found that the handle was very easy to use. I'm really happy with the quality. Has a good weight to it and feels very solid! Came in a nice attractive box and would easily make for a great present for the hairy guy in your life, or if you're just looking to branch out and save some money on shaving.

A fair razor for beginning wet shavers, but mine had a poor finish on the handle
I've been wet shaving for several years and primarily use a Merkur Futur and a Muhle R41 with Personna or Astra blades. I was excited to try this razor from Artisan Form because the company appears to be progressive. The razor was a little bit of a disappointment. The rosewood handle was poorly finished on the razor I received. It was as though someone had a finger on it while applying the clear coat -- there was a fairly large spot of unprotected wood.As for the shave, I tried it with the blades I usually use. It does pretty well but is nowhere near as aggressive as the Futur or the R41. Maybe a decent razor for a newcomer to wet shaving with double-edged blades, but it was taking multiple passes to address my beard. In all, the finishing issue made this razor appear to be of low quality. The head itself is OK. If you like rosewood, then you might give this one a whirl. The company would probably replace one that had the finish problem my example had.

Horrible Tolerances
I seriously doubt any of the other gentleman reviewers actually used this razor. If they had their faces would be in shreds. I have been using double-edge razors & single edge razors for over 30 years. The blade tolerances are laughable at best. Take a look at the image I posted. Notice the extreme spacing distances between the two razors. The razor on the right is a 1930's Gillette long comb double edge razor. The closeness this razor provides is hard to beat even at today's standards. The tight tolerances provide an extremely close, safe, and comfortable shave. The Artisan Form razor is just plain dangerous. There is no protection from the closed head, in fact, you're almost guaranteed to lose more than just hair when shaving.Sure, it's wooden, it's stainless, it's pretty. But you can get a Merkur Futur 23C ($23) or any West Coast Shaving open comb razor that will perform better and won't require a transfusion.
