Great grip on rocks even wet and stable footbed, lacing eyes are weak point but not deal breaker.
Update April 2021 less than a year old and speed lace failed 6 miles into a 9 mile hike when running a downhill section so not happy, time to check the warranty I think 😰.Update Salewa are not doing any UK warranty work at present and told to go to Amazon to resolve warranty issue, Amazon don't make it easy to get in contact if you have a warranty claim but is possible with a lot of searching for chat thing but resolved quickly when you do manage to get in touch, update after sending boots back as instructed by Amazon they send e-mail to say item not correct sent back so will be disposed off and card recharged, after many e-mail and phone calls getting nowhere as they just ignore the fact they were sent back under warranty sending out same e-mail saying I will be recharged as wrong item sent back as it had been used and was damaged (reason sent back under warranty failed when using 9 Months into a 2 year warranty) when infarct the correct item was sent back for replacement refund. Total nightmare as customer services just don't listen and ignore you. If you buy from Amazon beware don't send anything back under warranty as they are not interested. Waiting on them recharging my card so I can then report them to trading standards having all the evidence they have handled this shockingly from day one.Great fit straight out the box as I was able to run in these though water and feet stayed totally dry, speed lace system great for speed of release as well. I have the shoes with the same soles on them and I have run over 650 miles in them and the soles are still only half worn so really durable having used them up mountains on wet rocks and soles have great grip and are really stable on uneven surfaces. Have seen that the speed laces cut through the cloth that they pass through but my shoes are only beginning to show signs of this after 650 miles so will be keeping an eye on the boots as they all seem to be this where the shoe only had this ate the front 3. I go a size up in these as I like to wear 2 pair of thin socks and they fit nice and snug on the feet with room at the front for downhill movement but they fit so we'll probably could have got away with a half size bigger, the heel has some stitching down the back on the inside which could pose a problem if heel was to rub on it but as fit was tight I never noticed any problems with it. Having run / hike in these over 5 miles up rocky paths up the hills straight out the box they have been as good as the shoes I have and did not disappoint. You forget you have boots on as they are so light but run a bit hotter than a shoe but was expected and was not too bad.Another good feature is the soft section at ankle above heel that made it like wearing a shoe when going downhill. Lots of good features on these but how tough the uppers will be remains to be seen as if in big and rough long grass as well as heather and brambles etc not sure the surface will cope with the harsh environments but over paths and rocks they should be fine and dry feet crossing burns as well.

I wouldn't buy them again - disappointment
After only about 6months of using, one of the shoes got torn. Michelin soles on both shoes got dramatically worn despite using them just as casual shoes with very occasional hill walking sessions. Although I really enjoyed the look, fit and grip to begin with, I would never expect them to get unusable so quickly especially considering the price. I was thinking about replacing them with a different pair of Salewa shoes, but I just don't feel like I have enough confidence after buying my first pair from their product line which only lasted a few months. I will be either back to Merrell Chameleon or Adidas Terrex which lasted me far longer (8+ and 2+ years respectively). Regards

Extremely comfortable walking shoe
Extremely comfortable walking shoe, honestly the best I've worn. I wear them almost daily for work in the events industry, used to go through 2 pairs of Merrell a year and these were initially far more practical. Unfortunately within 5-6 months the orange tags that keep the laces in had broken which is really poor for a £150 shoe. What can I do?

super
Super the best I've ever experienced. Used on a 16-hour hike for 8 days in a row, covering a total of approximately 400 km including trails, tarmac roads, cobblestone roads, under the intense sun, or torrential rain, heat, cold.

Light, comfortable, waterproof.
Love these boots. They are my every day lightweight pair. Use them for my shorter, lower walks in the lakes and general dog walking. Comfortable, lightweight and waterproof. I have experienced good customer service in the last from Salewa when I had a faulty product.
