Easy Piano DS

Although useful for an absolute beginner, the software is absurdly low-level. There are only ten lessons, and they stop pretty quickly after showing the notes in treble and bass clef.In the main gameplay mode, it doesn't even look much like sheet music - as if halfway through designing the program, the developers decided they wanted to compete with Guitar Hero rather than create actual music software. Not only that, but the grading system is way too lenient - giving a round of applause and 99% rating after a session where over half of the notes were merely "correct" rather than accurately timed.Another big flaw in all modes is that the notes are color-coded; there's no way to turn this off. I found myself reading by color rather than where the notes were placed on the staff.I am disappointed in this software, as it had the potential to be much more useful than this. I wish that the keyboard could be used with a more advanced learning program. As-is, its best use is probably for introducing small children to music before deciding to get them regular lessons. I'm glad I didn't pay the original retail price!

My granddaughter loves a piano game I have on my iPhone. Thought she would really enjoy this game for her DS, especially with the simulated keyboard. However, the keyboard is only for DS versions NOT the 3 DS game system she owns. Both of us were disappointed that it didn't fit! The game works (cartridge does insert) but she didn't play it much. My hope is that she will use it more and more over time.

I bought these for my grandchildren who are 6 & 5 years old. They are enjoying them and caught on really fast. The only downfall is that this can only be used on the original DS not the new DS 3-D. Fortunately they have both.

I got this, and promptly tried using it. The keyboard didn't work with the game. The avatar is only a female and sometimes (during classical songs) she is wearing a strapless gown (which I consider immodest) The game had some good ideas to it. I even learned a few things about how certain notes, when sharp or flat can actually sound the same! Now I'm a singer, and can play the piano, and I was really hoping to play the piano and have it record the notes of songs, but it doesn't work that way. Yes, you can compose things, and drag out notes, and place rests, but I wasn't very impressed. Yes, you can also change it to some different instruments.The game itself can be played without the keyboard, which it appears to be set up to do mostly...but like I say my keyboard just didn't work. So, I sent it back as defective.I think it's a good idea for the keyboard, but not a great game. Gearing it only to women, was in my opinion was a big mistake (my son and husband both thought they'd like to try it, but didn't like the female look.)Oh, and reading the music has a wierd colored note system. I'd have liked the option of actually playing the notes as they are written. (It's hard to even tell what part you are playing because the accompaniament is so overpowering.I DO NOT recommend rushing into this purchase unless you have 40$ approx. just lying around with nothing better to use it on!

I like the game, it's very similar to playing the Guitar Hero game. I'm still at the beginner level, hoping to get up to speed in this game..Overall it's a fun game.

I'm still waiting for a few more things to come in the mail, but this was well worth the wait! Thanks!

My 16 year-old nephew used it on sister's old DS, although to top part does not work. It would be great to have a 3DS game that teaches how to read note which includes beat. I might have enjoyed it more if I had fully working DS.

I was unable to concet this to the ds system i have. Therefore the actual piano part was useless. The game could be played without the piano. But the use of the piano was why i purchased it. Make sure it fits your ds before you buy.
