A SW Procurement book written for IT Sourcing professionals by a fellow Sourcing Pro
I just finished the book - and bought 3 more copies for my co-workers and sent links to the book to my managers - a SW Procurement book written for IT Sourcing professionals by a fellow Sourcing Pro, the insight is beyond amazing and all the way through reading this book - I said aloud - THAT'S BRILLIANT! The cake baking analogy - completely spot on with reality and GOLDEN! I wish we could get our end users to read this book...

Great read, falling apart
I just got this book and started reading and am almost finished but it’s not put together well. The pages are falling out of the book already and it’s a new book. Outside of the quality of how it was put together it is a good read.

Great language
I love the laid back, sarcastic, funny way the writer talks about this subject. In this case, I’m the enemy in the book and reading what goes through my customers mind has been very interesting.

Excellent Resource!
I found this tome at a conference and it has proven to be a great resource to understand industry knowledge for a field that is particularly niche. The author presents what he has gathered from nearly two decades of hands-on experience in a manner that is very accessible to the reader. I highly recommend for IT, Procurement, and Executive professionals alike to bridge the gap between the two fields and generate value within your organization.

Practical advice given with a sense of humor. Good for those new & seasoned in procurement.
Technology is embedded in every enterprise, so leaders should strengthen their understanding of how to effectively source it. I read this book and highlighted key learnings along the way... and ended up with many insights and actionable nuggets that I will definitely use. Glad I heard about the book from others in procurement. It is a quick read. Good for those new to procurement (includes glossary, examples, etc.) and those with many years (I have been in the procurement space for close to 20 years).

An Eye Opener
Actually we all knew the subject very well and it really hurt us. However, it was really difficult to negotiate. The author shows the perfidity of software compaies sound and clear. Now we have logical facts at hand and I have already used them with success which means that the price of the book was peanuts comparing to the immediate benefits I got from the software suppliers. And besides it is not only software - I easily transfered this knowledge to some other services.
