The abc Arm Bow Corrector is an innovative tool designed to help musicians of all levels master their bowing technique. Use this for beginners if there is not a lot of time in private lessons to focus on straight bow strokes.
I love it! This helps my beginning private students to focus on relaxing their bow hand without having to worry about accidently getting the 'dying cat' ponticello tones. The complicated Right Hand finger guiding nuances for a straight bow stroke can be bypassed while the beginner builds their Left Hand skills. My students notice that they are not playing with a straight bow because their bow speed slows down and gets caught by the friction of the corrector. This corrector promotes good mechanics for developing the fundamental arm motions in the right hand.I take the corrector off when we are consciously practicing straight bow strokes with good tone. With the corrector on, I am trying to see if we can build good mechanics subconsciously.I'm not sure if it would be better to have a wider space for the bow to fit in more easily with more play and wiggle room when playing 8ths and 16th notes. The most annoying part of the corrector is setting the bow on the string.Placing the corrector onto the instrument can be a little difficult. It feels rather fragile and brittle when stretching it over the strings to put on the fingerboard but it is made of a rather resilient plastic. Stills works fine after a month.

I don't know if it is useful or not
Ordered an abc Arm Bow Corrector for a 3/4 & 4/4 violin twice. Twice a small abc arrived for a 1/4-1/10 violin. So the first was returned (no problem) and the second will also be returned. I don't know if it is useful or not.Not going to try again to get the correct size.

Too narrow of opening. Bow barely fits inside and it runs sides of bow marking it up

Some of us are sloppy and need correcting...
Good for all levels of playing. I constantly slide it out of the way (over the finger board) and then back into position to test my bowing while sight reading (when I am most apt to let technique to go caput). Fits on the viola as well. Should last and last. Great investment.

Good idea but did not work
To small and narrow to use the bow. I broke it trying to widen it. Let my monie.

Not good for cello.
This pops up for cello corrector, BUT IT DOESNT FIT.

I get a much more beautiful tone! Thanks
I also felt awkward at first with a narrow fit, but I realize that a narrow fit guides my bow moving with more precision. I kept pushing through then I felt less resistance as my bow was moving in a more straight line. When I removed the ABC Arm Bow Corrector, I get a much more beautiful tone! Thanks!
