T.O.P. Chops 4 bag mixed assortment--Original, Red Chili Pepper, Sweet and Spicy and Teriyaki

For years I have been ordering the sweet and spicy jerky in packs of 5 bags, because it was the best jerky I had ever had. It was so much more flavorful and tender than anything else I could find. So sad to report that these guys have somehow changed their recipe along with the re-brand to "Top Chops." I was so disappointed when I bought a 5 pack of these and it turned out to be thin, dry, and leathery. Even the bag was made out of some cheaper thinner plastic. I'm not sure what happened over at this company, or why they are suddenly cutting corners, but unless they change back to the old version I definitely won't be buying this anymore.

This is not Chops Beef Jerky. Chops Beef Jerky, which I used to buy on Amazon all the time, was the best beef jerky I've ever had- and I've tried dozens. This is "T.O.P. Chops Beefs Jerky". The bag is similar, with the main difference being "T.O.P." is added in the labelling. What is inside the bag accompanying this tiny change in the label represents a massive change: "T.O.P. Chops Beefs Jerky" is dry and hard, pretty much the antithesis of what (real) Chops Beef Jerky is/was. I strongly suspect the label/company was sold to some outfit who kept the labelling and promotion and changed the product to a grossly inferior one.

After reading the reviews about the tenderness of this jerky I thought I'd try the assortment pack. The claims of tenderness are right on. I'm not much of a beef jerky person because of the tough nature of the food, but the Chops jerky is in a class all its own. It is truly tender like no other jerky. We enjoyed all four flavors. Chops jerky has proven to be a great high protein snack. I am now a regular customer. I look forward sharing my new favorite snack with my family and coworkers.

All I can say is that this is the BEST out there that I have ever tried, and I am a meat connoisseur! I sent some to my Dad randomly one day and he said he ate 2 bags in one sitting. It is the tenderest, most flavorful jerky out there. I wouldn't even call it jerky for that matter; it's like dried and marinated ribeye steak. So worth the price, I can't express that enough. This is nothing like the normal tough shoe leather jerky; if you like that, don't buy this; this is fall apart in your mouth tender. I like all flavors in the 4 bag combo; the spicy ones are pretty spicy with certain bites, but not so much that you want to drown yourself in milk. I hope this helped!

Normally this product is great. I’ve had it multiple times, but for some reason this last time was terrible. It turned to chalk in my mouth on every bag. I thought at first maybe the first bag was an anomalie but every other bag was horrid, and I went through all of them. I’m highly disappointed and it was so bad that I don’t want to play the Russian roulette of potentially getting another terrible order. It truly was a surprise how bad this last order was.

This is easily the best beef jerky I've ever had, and the price point is reasonable for an incredibly high quality product. Even the Original flavor is moist and easy to eat. It's high quality meat with really fantastic flavor. I've tried all but the red chili pepper at this point and would say the Original is probably my favorite which is surlsifing, as I'm a Teriyaki jerky fan by trade. Teriyaki comes in next and then the Sweet and Spicy. The only jerky I'll be buying for the foreseeable future.

A bit pricey, but well worth it if purchased occasionally. At the rate I'm enjoying the jerky, I'd go broke. The Chop Beef Jerky Red Chili Pepper is the best jerky I've ever had and I do a lot of jerky's. It's tasty, tender and for me, with just the right amount of heat. Unfortunately, it's not available in stores where I live.

This jerky is pretty good. I like the variety of flavors, although they all taste very similar with a very slight hint of unique flavor. This jerky is VERY thin, like paper thin, but it retains some moisture and is tender and not chewy. So if you like a tough, chewy jerky, this isn't for you. But if you like an easy to eat jerky that has good flavor, this might be for you. But for my taste, I prefer another brand on Amazon that is more beefy and tender.

SOOOOO tender. Wow. I've never had jerky this tender. I'm no jerky expert but I do like the stuff and buy it periodically. I've tried the local "fancy" brands and nothing comes close to this. I prefer original and Teriyaki. Red Chile was a bit too much for me. Sweet & Spicy was fine. So, 4 star all around but that's based on taste. Judging the meat itself, if you like tender quality jerky? This is the real deal. I'll get a full pack of my two top flavors next and rate them appropriately, which'll be 5!

The wife and I really enjoyed this jerky. It tastes great and is super tender. Some things to consider before buying this jerky, as it wouldn't be for everyone.- Very tender, much much more than your classic jerky. So if you like drier and chewier jerky, this isn't for you.- The spicier packages aren't packed full of intense heat, which I like but some might be underwhelmed if looking for intense spice.- While all the flavors taste great in my opinion I do kind of wish there was more of a bigger difference in the flavour profiles. They all have suble differences in taste.All in all very happy with purchase and would be willing to do so again in the future.

Very tasty jerky. Great snack for those of us who don't want chips or other such low nutrition junk.

The jerky is tender. It is spicier than I like, there is probably half a teaspoon of red pepper flakes per bag.

Delicious. Not much in the packs but quite yummy !
