iGaging 35-0928 Digital Table Saw Gauge

I bought this jig because when looking for dial gauges it was only a few bucks more then just a gauge and I could get my new saw aligned quicker that way.Setup is super simple, and you are off to alignment. It fit in my Delta Contractors Saw Mitre Gauge slot tightly and the spring loaded buttons help secure it. Like with any gig the minimal slop is easily offset by ensuring you pull it back to make sure it is seated in the track the same each time. My saw started off .013" out of alignment. It took a bit of tinkering but it is now down to .001. The fence was put into alignment as well with similar results. I ran some test cuts, checked it and the alignment was exactly the same. I checked again the following morning and the measurements were the same.The wood I cut surely experienced a change in humidity and moved more than 1/128 of an inch over night. By my logic its consistent and the saw is locked in place. Could I have built one, sure. But the savings amount wasn't very big and the digital gauge rocks. Is it the highest quality gauge ever made? Probably not is it easy to read and does it give consistent results...absolutely.

Easy to assemble and use. Makes trueing a tablesaw quick and simple… which was great for me because when my sawstop cts arrived just about everything was a little out of square. I’ve picked up a bunch of stuff from igaging for woodworking and it’s just as precise as starrett for less than half the price.

I wanted to check the alignment of my tablesaw and blade. The unit is well built and functions as described. I like digital readouts over analog which is a nice feature. I liked how the quality seemed good, how it went into the slot guide for the miter and fit snuggle. I really have no issue with this and give it a high rating however did I really need this to check the tablesaw alignment? No and probably could have saved myself a little money but now I own it and will utilize it when needed to check alignments.

I'd been having some issues with my table saw cutting crooked and needed a more accurate means of determining where the problem was. For me personally, using a combination square as shown online for aligning the blade and fence just isn't accurate enough. The manual for my saw indicates that .002" of an inch alignment of the blade is within specs. That's not much, not sure how to achieve that with the combination square technique.I have a dial gauge, but I had to make a contraption that it could attach to and fit in the miter channel. I could get pretty good readings with it, but not always. The iGaging saw gauge is way more consistent. I swapped the digital gauge out with my dial gauge just to check accuracy and they both gave the same result so I feel confident that the digital gauge is accurate.It's easy to assemble and easy to use. In my case, the blade is well within specs at .001", but my fence was way out and the cause of the problem. If you really want to tune your saw and you're looking for a tool to help with that endeavor, I think the iGaging saw gauge is a worthwhile investment.

Ignore the "5 star" reviews. This gauge is a complete failure for the one task it is supposedly designed to do, repeatable and accurate measurements. The miter bar is the main issue. It's difficult to get in an once you do there is a ton of slop and it's not adjustable. The shallow grove where the sliding bar attaches causes the whole thing to tilt/lift out of the miter slot when it's tightened down. I tried the 3/4" miter/T-slots of 6 different machines and it was a poor fit for all of them. This causes major issues get any sort of accuracy out of the tool at all. I tested it out by attempting to align my table saw fence and blade with the miter slots. Marking the initial spot on my fence where I started I zero'd the tool out and then moved it to the back of the fence and took a reading. I then moved it back to the initial spot and it no longer read zero. Each time I tested I got different results, sometime differing as much as 0.03" The gauge itself seemed ok and I was able to get accurate readings from it when it was detached from the rest of the tool. The construction quality however screamed made in China. The body is metal and is ok but the little battery door and electronics seemed cheap and like they'd break. The unit comes with 2 batteries. One of mine was already dead when I got it. I plan on returning this tool. You are better off just buying an analog gauge and making your own jig for it. It will be much more accurate and a lot cheaper.

I used this gauge to tune up my table saw and it worked extremely well for the purpose. The gauge seemed accurate and my resultant tuned up Delta saw preforms greatI have 2 complaints, the first is that the little plastic washers that come with it do not fit, which seems a little sloppy from iGaging, but certainly did not effect the results, it just makes it a little tougher to tighten down and untighten the bolts it comes with.The bigger issue is that it's very hard to tighten this into a miter slot accurately. There are pressure points on the bar to keep it sturdy in the slot as you use it, but I found that I still had to push it against one side of the miter slot every time I moved it to make sure it was snug against the edge. The magnets helped hold it steady, but when trying to tune something to within 0.001", it would be nice to have a more snug fit so there is no play in the slot.
