By All Accounts,This is "The Kit"!
All I've been hearing for the past year at the motor bike meet up, is Dio Reed Valve This, Dio Reed valve That!I did some research, and learned what they are, and what they do.I decided that I too must have one!I ordered this kit, and didn't quite realize exactly what I ordered.THis is the whole Kit and Caboodle!Intake, Reed valve, Carb, and Cylinder Jug.It's going to be a whole new engine pretty much! The reed valve part is shiny, and beautiful. Everything is polished to a sheen! Then the new carb.... It's gorgeous. Not a cheapo set of lungs, but a very solid carb with extra jets, and a highly polished airway. That's really sweet....Then I opened the last box, which contained the Jug! OK, I was sort of prepared for this, as I've seen review after review where people say that the jug looks like It was pulled from the wreck of the Titanic, sandblasted and re-packaged... They were not Lying!Check out the photos. The cylinder is clean, and well honed, and I'm hoping that it is in fact to the proper tolerance.Beyond that, the jug looks like hot garbage! it looks like was molded out of a scrap pile of old tin cans, and crudely shaped to be close enough in resemblance to a Cylinder jug to box it and ship it.Is that going to affect the operation or performance? From what I understand, the answer is no.However, I anticipate a couple hours of careful filing, grinding and polishing to make it presentable. I'm building a showpiece bike, ans I could NEVER put this thing on My engine as it sits now...It's fixable, but come on! Everything else in the package is pristine, then...... There's That! Ugh!I'm going to be a nice guy and overlook that when I award My stars. Everyone says that this kit is going to be night and day, especially if I use a windowed piston, so I'm going to be an optimist, and assume the others who own this know what they're talking about. I'm going to defer to what I've seen of other's setups, and assume it's going to rock! If it's anything other than pure performance, I'll be back to snatch a star or two back faster than a greased rhinoceros on a Teflon water slide covered in movie theater butter! (Um.... Huh?)I'm super excited to finish this build, and post some photos of the finished Bike.Until then, I'm going to just take My time, do it right, and dream of the day I go screaming down the road on the motor bike I dreamed up, designed, and built piece by piece from parts I bought here on Amazon!

Cylinder is 1st generation trash!
1st impression of other parts minus the cylinder is pretty decent, other then the extra ports on the carb I have to figure out and cap off. Carb looks like it belongs on an 80+cc dirt bike.Good thing I have another cylinder with the big ports and nicer transfer ports coming tomorrow. (Other one in pic is trash, just for reference)If I knew the cylinder was of the trash variety, I wouldn't have paid the money I did. Will update at a later time, after installation and testing.
