Chocolate Cardamom Rose Salve Lip Balm Stick - Black Oval Tube Sticks - 2 Pack of 0.15 fl oz balms

I've purchased another lip balm from this company in the past and this one looks to be nearly the same formula, minus the vitamin E and with a different scent. So I'm not sure if it's the exclusion of the vitamin E or the difference in scent, but this balm seems to be working better than the previous (even though the previous balm worked quite well). In fact, it's actually joined the ranks of Nivea Recovery and Soothing Touch as my go-to, everyday lip balms (yeah, I have a lip balm problem, I'm aware).Out of the tube, the smell is mostly cocoa butter, but there's a little hint of cardamom that makes the scent a little spicy, plu something kind of generically floral (which seems like it shouldn't work with the cocoa and cardamom, but it very much so does). Once I've applied it, the scent is mostly cocoa butter and rose-the cardamom kind of fades away on me, but that might not be the case for everybody.Taste-wise, I really only get rose. So if you're not cool with the taste of rose, this probably isn't the lip balm for you. Also, if you want a sweet lip balm, this is also not going to be the lip balm for you (though I'd encourage you to NOT buy sweet lip balms-most sweeteners end up drawing moisture out of your lips).Ingredient-wise, this is mostly an emollient/occlusive lip balm: soybean oil and sunflower oil are decent emollients, beeswax is a pretty good occlusive, while cocoa butter and shea butter do a little bit of both. There is some aloe vera gel in here, which does have SOME humectant properties, but it really isn't the best humectant out there and it's last on the ingredient list, so I'm not sure how much of it is actually in here. I don't consider this a deal-breaker, as pretty much all of my day-to-day lip balms are emollient/occlusive - humectant-heavy lip balms actually tend to make my lips drier if I use them for a long period of time, so I only use them for a short period of time when my lips get SUPER dry. YMMV, though: if you need a lot of humectant in a lip balm, I'd skip this one.Since the product is an emollient/occlusive-type lip balm, it lasts for a good long while once it's applied (unless you lick it off, of course). The balm isn't completely matte, but it doesn't go on shiny either: it leaves my lips looking like I just licked them, not like I just applied lip balm. As such, it'd work well for guys who are okay with a not-totally-matte lip balm (and if you're not, you're going to need to either get a sticky occlusive-only type lip balm or something that has extra ingredients meant to make the balm matte).So, if you're looking for an emollient/occlusive lip balm, are cool with the taste of rose, and don't need something that's aggressively matte, I'd definitely recommend that you try this lip balm.

I was looking for a new chocolate scented lip balm to replace another brand no longer made. I bought a couple other brands that were just "chocolate" flavor/scent but this brand also showed up in my search results. The chocolate scent is strong and is smoothed out with a wonderful rose/cardamom finish. The result is altogether amazing. The whole is greater than the sum of the of the parts. Incredible. The viscosity is just right, not too oily/slick/thin and not thick/gritty. The flavor and taste is not strong which is perfect. Fake sweet chemical taste is a huge turn off for me and this has none of that. I would almost say minimal/no flavor wich I prefer. But the fragrance is just incredible. Love it.

I decided to try this lip balm because I tried the peanut butter mint one and LOVED IT. I have literally bought that one like 7 times and just finally subscribed to it (go buy it!!!)Anyway, figured this one would be just as good and I thought the scent combo would be better. The scent is great, very cocoa butter-y! And can we talk about this packaging?! Soooo cute I just want to carry it around everywhere and stunt on people when I put it on. It’s a good lip balm overall, or an average lip balm, rather. Im knocking off one star because it is not as good as links peanut butter mint one (also by beard and lady), it’s not as smooth. I read someone say it is missing the vitamin e that the other one has and I believe it but have not looked into the ingredients. I feel I have to apply this one more times a day and have to do serveral passes over my lips to feel like the product is there. Similar to other drugstore brands.

I wanted to try this out based on the reviews. As a lip balm, this is very nice. It feels much better than other brands.The flavor / smell is the reason I docked a star. Kinda smells like someone has stale chocolate on their breath, except it's on your lips. If you like the taste of artificial chocolate, this *may* be for you, but it wasn't for me.I'd recommend their other flavor 100%:  Link's Lip Balm - Peanut Butter Peppermint - "Peculiarly Perfect" - Black Oval Tube - 2 Pack of 0.15 fl oz balms

This is by far one of my favorite lip balms, but it is extremely expensive and lacks quality control and you really do get a mix of good/bad batches often. This is probably my fourth or fifth time that I've received one that leaks a TON of oil/wax from the top of the dispenser, and also has a good amount of the wax building up underneath the dispenser where you "twist" to extend the lip balm. You're forced to throw it away unless you want to deal with oily and smelly pockets and hands.For the price, I'd expect a lot more QC.

I thought this was going to be little softer of a flavor/scent, I can't actually wear it because it bothers me too much, but it was very moisturizing. I gave the second to my sibling and they love it.

I love this lip balm - it really is phenomenal! I am a big fan of cardamom and was very pleased at how all three of the notes, rose, cardamom and chocolate, work together to make a very pleasant and sophisticated fragrance. The shape of the tube is sleek and perfect to slip into my pocket. And I was especially surprised by the longevity of the lip balm; my lips felt and tasted great hours (literally, hours) after application. I ended up buying several more of these for gifts since they are so much more interesting and special than any other ol' chapstick.

I wasn't sure about this scent combination, but it smells like my new favorite dessert- mostly sweet chocolate. I don't get a lot of rose (and I'm not sure I'd know cardamom by smell alone) but it's ok with me. Smells good but not like I want to eat it. Most importantly, though, it goes on smoothly and feels moisturizey without being heavy. Also, it seems to last. I've only had it a couple days, but I'm not reapplying in five minutes. Great so far!
