We purchased this product about a month ago and have just completed an international trip with it. WE LOVE IT! I want to say that when we received the product, it was by far the best quality of any of the products we researched and ordered, and it was also a little larger than the others. We shared the concerns of others about it fitting. The first leg of the flight was across the US on a smaller jet and the product worked really well. It was just large enough that it went right under the seat. While waiting on the next leg of the flight in Newark, I was able to zip out the wings for comfort and he loved being able to see around. The next leg of the flight was to Europe and the flight ended up being full. I was in a window seat and the bag fit perfectly. The fabric, stitching and zippers are heavy duty and the base is waterproof. Our cat is 12+ lbs and we were concerned about his comfort on a 20+hr day. We arrived after car, plane, bus and train -and loved our Smiling Paws Kitty Bag all the way! Thank you especially to Victoria at Smiling Paws for her tremendous help.

When the Amazon box arrived at my door, Bentley my yorkie, knew the package was for him. He was jumping up and down before I opened the box. After he helped me to open the box and discovered that the package was truly his, he couldn’t wait until I unfolded it. He was in it before I could open all sides. He stayed in it most of the day. I had to chuckle to myself because it was as if, he was sizing it up: he stretched his front legs, he stretched his back legs, he rolled over and he even tried his favorite position, laying on his back with his paws up (if you have a yorkie, you know that position). What more can I say, Bentley was completely comfortable. I leave it open with a soft cuddle blanket inside next to his bed and there are times he prefers the carrier instead of his bed. I found the carrier very convenient, strong and well made. I love the many compartments and I can choose which side I want to expand. Now when I put my shoes on and reach for my purse, Bentley runs to get into the carrier, and what about his walks? He now wants to be carried in the Smiling Paws carrier. Is he spoiled or what?? We are lovin it!

This carrier is very comfortable and sturdy. My 18 lb puppy was able to fit and turn around in it. Unfortunately, it is so rigid that it was impossible to make it under the United airplane seat. They have lifevests under the seat that make it even harder to get it in. I was afraid the flight attendant was going to make us get out of the flight as the bag only fit 3/4 of the way under the seat. The extension is useless in an airplane since they have to stay under the seat. I will need to look for another one that has more flexibility on the top.

Let me start by saying I've been trying to find this exact carrier for a while. I tried another brand and while it had fur lining throughout, you had to reach inside to unzip the expansions..... please tell me how that works if you're trying to contain your cat? Or in my case, two cats. Then I found this carrier and it was PERFECT for my two medium sized cats. They're young and still quite spunky so they love the room to be able to play or lay around in the crate on car rides when I don't want them running wild in my car. The zippers work great and overall this is a very smart design with FOUR expansions and easy opening and closing. I actually had to start leaving the carrier open because one of my cats loves it so much that he will cry until I open it for him to lay in. So, I guess you can say it's cat approved. Shoulder strap works great for carrying as well. I'm really glad I made this purchase.

The stitches holding the metal rod in place came already undone. I can see the metal rod poke through. Also, one of the side zippers is really hard to zip and unzip because of the angle and the bulge of the stitches (see pictures). I expected this to be of higher quality for the price I paid. Don't want to send it back because I'm in Canada. Exchanging it is going to take too long and I need it very soon. No dog or cat could have done that as I don't have one yet..

Bear (a10#Pomeranian) and I love this carrier. He can snuggle inside when all the "windows"are up. This is when it looks like a traditional carrier. Then, Bear likes being able to have "room to roam" inside this carrier. I can't believe how big it becomes when all the sides and front are open. We bought the carrier to use on vacation, but we let him try it out a few weeks before leaving. We leave it out and Bear will go in to get away from the grandkids noise. It gives him lots of room to turn around when he wants to look a different direction. And, It's so easy to open. The zippers slide easily, it's light weight to carry and the screens seem durable. It comes with a fluffy white mat. I feel the mat is too thin; and put an extra mat on top of it. Otherwise, the best carrier I've ever seen. And, it's airline Approved!!!
