A beautiful story of love and loss
A beautiful story of love, loss, the coming of age, motherhood and forgiveness. The author uses lyrical and heartfelt prose, which brings depth and poignancy to the story.

Sad at times, and endearing
There was a certain amount of predictability to this story of three young people whose lives are forever altered in an instant. Yet, so well written that it didn't matter. This is a story of love, learning, and resilience.. It's painful and sad at times. Tearful, yet beautuful in its pain.Kristin Hannah is a gifted storyteller.

Emotional Rollercoaster
Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is my favorite book of all time, which is what led me to dive more into her writing and pick out this book. I will say, during the first half of the book I was not super impressed because I felt like it was just a predictable high school love/friendship story that ended in tragedy. But as the story unfolded further, there were some elements that I truly did not see coming. She was able to portray how ugly grief can be and how it affects different people in unique ways. She did a great job at garnering my sympathy for a character that turned to be pretty hate-able. This book definitely takes you on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster so I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys an easy read that also makes you feel something.

wow. Had not a Kristin Hannah book in quite a few years. this was just as good as those I had read back then
What a wonderfully written sad and beautiful story. Still drying my tears. I will have to recommend it to all my reading friends. Having twins myself, boy and girl, I certainly can’t identify with every part of this and it would have broken me if I had lost one at such a young age. Thankfully mine are alive and well at 58 and still just as close as when they were young.Super good read. She knows peoples emotions and writes about them beautifully, you easily identify.
