7 Classic Albums

He was one of the greatest drummers ever and on re-mastered cds, every drum stroke is crystal clear. Ahhhh.

Great music and excellent sound. Very good value. However, there are only 6 albums in this collection: Blues Caravan, Buddy Rich In Miami, Buddy Rich Just Sings, Sing and Swing With Buddy Rich, The Voice Is Rich and The Wailing Buddy Rich. The Gene Krupa / Buddy Rich album Burnin' Beat is not on any of the discs. The album is on the cover and is mentioned on the insert, but I could not find any of the songs on one of the 4 discs. Still worth the price.

I hardly ever rate something,uh,OK. It's a five star drum solo archive. That we adore. The second disque featuring his "sweets" is totally cold drippy arrangements that satisfy,at this time, only septuagenarians. However, the drum battle stuff, Gene vs. Buddy stuff is all-time phenomenal But remembering some of his vocal slurs against rock music, the mean engineer in me,might just splice the drums solos n paste them in the midst of Ted Nugent or Dread Zeppelin tune. The solos of Rich vs Roach are almost unfair,Roach, being the much older man, fails to challenge the aggressive ego style drum playing of Mr. Rich. So, it is what it is. The curious will be amazed at all the arrangements meant to showcase Buddy Rich's superior drumming ability, but,nobody outshines Buddy.

Always a great value for somebody trying to build up a jazz collection on a budget. I've bought dozens and will probably buy dozens more.

one of the best collection of Buddy Rich, you can hear him playing his famous and amazing solos, but at the same time you can hear him playing so elegant, sensitive, smooth and beautiful songs definitely a really, really good record!!!!

More Buddy and there are still more waiting in the wings, I hope. His musicians really get on with it.

This one is really good and brings together some albums that haven't been available for a while.

And amazing drumming. Buddy Rich was surely the greatest drummer of any type of music ever. Although I wouldn't pretend to be very knowledgable about any sort of jazz or big band music,I found these albums on cd very enjoyable. I think if many past and present rock drummers listened to the drumming on these albums, they would have given up the music biz and gone back to sweeping factory floors,or whatever

This is a good selection of Buddy in the middle years of his career. Not quiet the dynamics his reached in his later years, Gene Krupa also features well.

Only 3 stars from me and l am a big Buddy fan. Reasons are not many what l would call great performances most ok. As for information ! well the worst l have ever had in a c.d. none. One thing l cannot complain about is the price so softens the disappointment, not that it will put me off purchasing in the future he is still the Man. My recommendation would be Big Swing Face.

Don't get me wrong, I love the music and the sound quality of the music is very good but instead of the seven albums expected there are only six. Burnin' Beat with Gene Krupa is included in the albums on the front cover, and listed in the album info in the enclosed booklet but isn't on the CDs or track listing on the back cover of the jewel case. Somebody slipped up there!
