I thought this plugged in at first, but it's batteries. It's actually just a big button. You push down on it and it makes the coin noise just like in the game as the light comes on. One of the coolest things my daughter has. She absolutely loves it. Not sure it's worth the price though now that I know how much it is because I got it from someone else as a gift. Still, a very awesome night light.

Super cute! I purchased this for my Mario Bros obsessed five year old. It works great, looks just like the picture, and is just mega cool! It's one of his Christmas gifts, so I don't know how he feels about it but, I've no doubt he will love it! It's definitely a unique item and I absolutely recommend it!
