This is a decent product
Even though the caps, black rubber seal piece, easily starts to come loose. I own 2 of these humidifiers. 1 from Walmart. 1 from Amazon site. The 1 from Walmart I misplaced the little black rubber seal on the cap. Kaz Inc. should have kept offering this product :(

Terrible item, arrived broken with parts missing. And there's more...
I had bought this same humidifier last year. It worked well until the filter fell apart. I tried to order new filters but they sent me some thin, flimsy ones that soaked up the water and broke in 2 days. I found this used new humidifier and thought I would try it. First, it came late. When I unwrapped it I realized it was an older brand than the one I had bought last year. Also there were parts missing, no users manual, and the filters were the same flimsy ones that I had bought earlier. Very disappointed! I threw it in the trash and bought myself a new one. Worst experience I've ever had on Amazon. Taught me never to buy used products again.

It's ok. My friend had this one so I bought one as well. This one only lasted about 2 weeks before it died so I had to buy a new one.

Works just fine for me...
I purchased one of these several years ago and liked it so much that I purchased a second one as a backup just in case this product eventually is no longer manufactured. Now even though this humidifier can be rather noisy, the amount of noise it makes helps to drowned out excess amounts of noise (neighborhood barking dogs, vehicles traveling busy highways nearby, etc.) that usually occurs when you're trying to sleep. As for the numerous customers who have chosen only one star in their review because of this supposedly leaking, there's this really handy thing called a "gasket", which is a circular shaped black rubber washer that came with the humidifier, that fits snugly in a specific location on the lid, and that lid must be properly screwed in the location on the bottom of the tank in order to keep the tank from leaking. And no, you don't need to be a rocket scientist or a highly experienced computer technician to do this very simple thing. After you have added however much water you want to put in the "tank" of this humidifier, what you must do next is to take that lid you unscrewed, make sure the black rubber gasket is still in its designated location, screw the lid back into the hole where it's supposed to be; then while you are near a sink, tub, or maybe even a toilet, someplace that has a thing called a "drain", turn the tank right side up as if you were going to put it into the lower portion of the humidifier. If the tank appears to be leaking water around the lid, then obviously you have not screwed that lid back on correctly, with the gasket in its designated location. Like duh. Again you don't need to be a rocket scientist or a highly experienced computer technician to do this sort of thing. The one and only thing I don't like about this is how frequently I have to refill the tank, which is usually every 2 to 4 days, depending on how long the filter has been inside the humidifier.

Adequate as a paper weight ...
This thing blows through filters like there's no tomorrow. Does not seem to add much moisture to the air. Noisy.

Not the best, not the worst
Considering the extremely low price point, this humidifier is not bad. It's definitely not the noisiest humidifier I've ever own, but it is by no means silent. I would compare it to having a fan on high. The upkeep is kind of a pain, cleaning the reservoir, letting everything dry, replacing the filter, then I spray everything down with disinfectant, just to be sure everything is clean. At the first sign of a cough or congestion we turn on the humidifier and can tell a huge difference the next day and we do not spend the nights awake and coughing. So it definitely works, which is the most important thing to me.

Had a leak, found the problem, bought a new one today!
My wife and I live in Amarillo, TX - very dry environment - and got one of these for our baby's room. It has two settings for medium and high, uses a replaceable paper filter (also available on Amazon), and releases water just like the an upside down water dispenser. Some basic design comments:- The machine pulls air from the rear, across the top of a shallow basin (about two inches deep or so) through the filter, and out the front. This causes the water to evaporate into the air being pulled across and pushes it into the air on the other side.- As the water evaporates, more water drains from the reservoir tank to fill the basin. A full tank normally lasts through two nights for us.- The basin is open and, if the unit isn't on a level surface, will spill out the back. Make sure it's not on something that will shake if someone or something (pets) bump against it because it will leak a little.- We've found that lower volumes in the reservoir may lead to more leaks due to a lack of pressure in the tank. Not sure about the physics, but that's when we've experienced more problems.- ANY kind of crack in the tank will contribute to a leaky basin because it allows air in through the top, reducing the pressure and letting the water overflow the basin. This is how we found our leak - I dropped the tank on the tile bathroom floor and didn't find the crack until the morning, when the dresser was covered in water. I actually repaired it with some putty designed to seal cracks in PVC, but over time that gave out and it continued to leak. It's not a fancy unit really and it's not high dollar. It does a great job of humidifying a small room (ours is 10x10 or so) and the noise level is fairly high. We like that because it helps our kid sleep and hides the noises in our small house as we continue to walk around. You can spend more money and get more features, but I feel this unit works exactly as it's designed. If you pick it up and move it while full of water, don't be surprised when your surfaces get wet. Use common sense and you'll be okay. We just bought our second and are glad to have a more affordable option.
