Satisfied customer.
I have Fibromyalgia and Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. I live with ice packs! This is by far the best quality pack I have found. The fabric is high quality. The pack is sectioned which breaks up the pressure on the edges. That is what normally split after little use on others I have used including those purchased from PT. The edges are reinforced as well. After daily use for a few weeks it is in perfect condition. Large size as well that covers both back and affected shoulder. I will be researching this company's other products for future use.I am very relived I finally found a good one. I highly recommend this product.Update: 2+ years later and this ice this pack is still going. I am so glad this was in my Amazon history so I do not loose the exact company for when I do want a new one. Appreciate the quality, now hope they don’t cheapen it.Second update: 3 months short of four years of use. I would estimate 3-4 days a week that I use this product. It is still functioning as well as the first day. PLEASE do not cheapen this product. It is so appreciated and needed. Fantastic quality.

Pretty Good for Cold Pack, but Does Not Hold Up as Heat Pack
I bought 2 of these; one to use as a cold pack, the other as a heat pack. As a cold pack, its substantial and it will stay very cold for some time. You will need to wrap it in a towel otherwise the plastic cover is tough on the skin. Unfortunately these do not hold up well as a heat pack. They gel inside does not distribute evenly, and as a result it heats up very unevenly. While the pack can be agitated to create consistent heat, there is still a big flaw. I have found that the edges will overheat, singe the liner, and create holes. Once the holes appear the hot gel inside the pack will leak out.

Melted
I have had this for 3 or 4 years, but have used it as a heating pad a total of 5 times. I have placed it on the microwave in 30 second intervals and "knead" the pad each time to distribute heat. I usually go a total of 2 minutes. The pad gets hot spots, no matter how much you knead or refold, and some cooler spots. Well, this time it was in for the 3rd 30 second round and it melted. Not sure what happened. It was the same microwave and same way I've done it every other time.

Pretty good for heat
I use this as a heat pack for my back. It works pretty well. I wish it retained heat longer but it’s pretty good for microwave heated product. You do have to massage it after it’s heated to even out the heat distribution. It is great size to lay under my back and is squish so it is comfortable to lay on.

It can do the job.
This product is good. I keep mine in the freezer so that I can grab it right after my morning exercises. I wrap a towel around it because it of course gets cold. The cold last about 1 1/2(depending on how frozen it is when you start off). I takes a while before it can be willed to bend to where you want it( in my case my shoulders), but I definitely like the length of it. I covers my full shoulder back and front. Material is durable too. Not to costly and worth it if you use this sort of thing frequently. (I do). So, I recommend under those circumstance.

Not a particularly useful product.
This product is attractive and seems to be well made, but it is not very useful. It does not come with a fabric cover, so to keep from burning yourself you have to wrap it in a towel. It contains thermal gel which is usually very good at maintaining its warmth after being heated, but there is so little gel in this product that the heat quickly dissipates. If you're looking for an hour or more of heat, get a different product or use an electric heating pad.

Might Be the Best Cold/Hot Pack Out There
This is the good one right here. There is no separate fabric shell, so you'll get the full cold/heat experience. At the same time, the cover is very flexible and comfortable as well as being washable. I have several different types of these kinds of things, and this is by far my favorite. You can throw it on your back, your leg, arm, and even though it's large, you can easily throw it on your neck as well.

If you need an ice pack this is the one to get. My back and hip testify to this.
I love the large size and heavy duty nylon "canvas" material. Yhe larger size comes at a premium cost, but you'll be able to use it for years. The pad gets cold and stays cold for some time. Flexibility improves as it thaws slightly. I would definitely recommend the larger size because it is more versatile. Just remember to put a towel between your skin & your skin (as any therapist would instruct) to prevent minor frostbite.to keep it colder longer add a towel, blanket or pillow on top for insulation. 15-20 minutes is all it takes. I had a hip replaced and this was a needed blessing. Much better and longer lasting than lumpy ice cubes in a ziplock
