There is a reason fly fishermen use this line for leaders and have for decades. It just works. The options for custom leaders are just endless with different sizes and color shades.I like going out knowing I tied my leaders to each specific purpose and due to the quality of the line there is no one but me to blame if my leader fails.

Nothing better than Maxima leader line. Been around for decades because it can’t be beat. Fly fishing leader, icefishing leader, I now even make Maxima leaders on all my bass and crappy rods. Helps keep your line from twisting and just seems to make every fly, lure and live bait fish better. Great stuff, don’t go fishing without it. Period!

After all the reviews I bought it and went fishing, it may he good in muddy water but if it’s green lake water or clean water trout will see the line and won’t bite. Went with 3 poles, 2 fluorocarbon and one this leader, continuously caught fish with fluro leaders while no bite in this one, crazy huh?

I use this primarily for a leader when fishing plastic baits in thicker cover. It tends to hold up well, with less line abrasion than I have seen with other brands. I like the Chameleon line as my spool line and this as a leader.

Still my favorite for the butt section of all my leaders. Tried other materials - fluoro, Chameleon(too visible, spooks fish in lakes & ponds), and Amnesia(see Chameleon).

Absolutely love this product! Have used in Alaska on Salmon and Trout and also for Steelhead in NY. No need to spend the extra money on fluorocarbon, this does the trick. Also, the spool is a convenient size to keep in your vest while fishing as well.

I use Maxima 10 and 12 pound a fair amount. It is very strong stuff, but a tad on the thick side. (Then again, that may be why it’s so strong.)

Works as advertised. Going second season with it and did not have any break offs so far.
