Grandkids love this set. They can play on the bed or desk and don’t have to worry when the 5-year-old giggles. The magnetic pieces stick to each other when playing checkers and also the board playing Checkers and Chess.One latch was broken/crushed on the first case when we opened it, so I returned it and had to wait until it was available again to order. New one was perfect.It comes with a large bag for carrying the pieces, or maybe to put checkers into when playing Chess, but seems silly to me. It doesn’t fit into the box when pieces are put into the case, so you have to figure out where to store it🥴 when you put the case away.Highly recommend this set for Checkers and Chess. The Chess pieces are awesome!

I had seen no complaints about this chess board so I got it. Don't get me wrong, it's great however, it came damaged. It's magnetic but not extremely magnetic to where the pieces are unable to fall.Despite all of this, I would say it's a great chess/checkers board for the price. I love the design, just not the fact that it's damaged.

You need to take all the pieces out in order to play. So if you’re playing checkers cool! But all them chess bits need to be pulled out to lay flat.

The pieces don’t fall off if the board gets bumped a little. The pieces are nicely crafted and don’t look cheap at all.

My great-grandson showed an interest in checkers so I got this set to get him started. Great choice. It is well crafted, heavy duty and easy to store. Love that the pieces are magnetic so we don't have to worry about them getting knocked off the board.

Great craftsmanship. Beautiful wood board with magnatic pieces. Kids enjoyed playing with this non stop. Travel bag is an extra bonus.

I recently started teaching my daughter the wonderful world of checkers and especially chess and I initially used a small electronic checkers and chess set so she could continue progressing on her own but even for her it was a bit too small.I saw this set and decided to give it a try and I am very glad I did that.It has great build quality from the board to the pieces. The inside carrying slots are well built and two sided so ALL the pieces are beyond secure.The clasping mechanisms are well built and secure to keep the set closed.I like the carrying bag it includes to protect your set from nicks and scratches.The magnetization is just the right amount as pieces stay secure and do not slide or move.Added plus (unlike many other sets) is the inclusion of two extra queens for end game. I can't begin to tell you how irritating it is to receive a set and not have extra queens for end game play.Very solid, well built board that is properly thought out.Looking forward to many bonding moments with my daughter with this set.5/5

Our children really got into chess thanks to some low-priced introductory sets we had purchased. Once we were secure in them being able to care for and appreciate a good set we got them this one. This is a fantastic gift! The set is VERY well made and really feels good in our hands. Solid set, great price.5 stars!

My 14-year-old son recently got into playing chess. I'm more of a checkers kind of gal, so my husband plays chess with him, and I'll play checkers.This set comes with both options, and the magnetic board is really good at keeping pieces where they belong.The foam storage inside is the main reason we got this set. Our previous set has all the pieces in little baggies, and the all-in-one board and game pieces set-up is so much better for us as we bring this back and forth with us from the house to the campground on the weekends where we have a camper.Overall, I would absolutely recommend this chess/checkers set. It's a really nice board and I feel like the price of $36.95 (price as of this review) is on point for the quality you're receiving.

This is a classic set of chess and checkers. I like the touch and feel of wood pieces. It even comes with a nice storage bag, very good for self-use or as a gift. The only thing I would like to see improvement is that the magnets are not strong enough. Other than that, this is perfect.

Perfect gift for anyone pretty much ages 7 and up. I love that it’s magnetic so you won’t accidentally knock pieces down. That also makes it idea for travel. The rule book helps anyone understand how to play for the first time. The price is reasonable considering the good craftsmanship and the storage provided for the pieces. Definitely recommend.

The media could not be loaded.  We love our chess tournaments in my family so this is a much-needed addition for travel cases. It comes in a great package and the fit and finish of the product are almost perfect. There is some minor blemish with every wooden product so there is nothing to write home about.Magnets are strong enough and stabilize pieces adequately. My only grief is that the magnet orientation within the checkers' pieces are not consistent. (see the video). This is probably just my OCD though.For the price, this is a fantastic value.
