Tenon sizes need to be sorted before drilling holes
I bought these to make a wall-mounted necklace rack. When I ordered, the tenon was described as 1/4". Assuming that it was I drilled 1/4" holes that mostly were too large. I drilled 1/4", 15/64" and 7/32" holes in a small piece of hardwood; of the 67 pegs that remained, 4 were 1/4", 42 were 15/64", and 22 were 7/32". None were 3/16" as currently stated in the listing. Some of the 15/64" pegs were sloppy in the 15/64" hole, but too big for the 7/32" hole. The small size of these does make precise dimension difficult; they are well-made, though. If I use up all the snug fitting 15/64 pegs, I'll get out my index wire drill bit set to size the rest.

Great value
So I had 6 Shaker pegs left over from years ago and decided to make one more peg board .I needed 7 so I went to the big box store looking for a bag of these. Not anymore. One in a bag for 3 bucks. Oak. Very rough but I bought it to do project. Then went on line ..Wow.. A whole bag of light colored and much prettier for a little over 50 cents a piece. They take stain well as well as paint. Got my vote. 5 stars. So here is the recipe I use...Buy a 1 by 3 inch clear pine or poplar board 4 ft. long at the box store. Cost 6 to 9 bucks.. It will actually be 2 and a half inches wide. Find the center line ..Inch and a quarter.. Now measure in from end of board and mark 6 inches 12,18,24,30,36,42 inches. Get a half inch spade bit and drill your holes..Butter up the ends of your pegs with Loctite adhesive or a reasonable facsimile and hammer them in. You will have a 4 foot Shaker peg board with 7 pegs for under 15 dollars.. Don't forget to sand .

Nice Quality. Consistent Size and Color.
Used these wooden shaker pegs to make a coat rack. Very nice quality. Size and color is consistent. No scratches or other defects. Used with a white oak board and they matched nicely. Would also look good stained to match darker woods.
