It's a 1 stage snowblower. Good for 10" and under
The machine works great! I've used it for recent snow storms of 4-8 inches. It has a lot of torque and throws the snow about 15ft. I do mine and my neighbors driveway and sidewalks. It last just long enough to do both. Even the hard pileas at the end of the driveway after the plow trucks come through. With an additional set of batteries I would not have any issues. It makes a clean path and is very light making it easier to do the back patio as well.If you live in an area that recieves more than 12 in of snow at a time, you may want to look at a larger model. Based on the ease of use out of the box, lightweight, no gas or fumes, and overall performance, I would recommend to others

Powerful little beast
I was impressed with thus snowblower! I was skeptical about its performance due to be battery powered. Well, we had 6 inches of fresh snow last night. I have 8×32 feet and another path of 6×60 feet that I need to keep clear of snow. I was able to clear snow from almost all of it. I run out of power after 20 min of operating the snowblower and had to finish with a shovel the last pass of 60 feet. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars- need more battery power. It threw snow 10 to 13 feet of to the side. The blower is very easy to operate and maneuver. I am small frame and had no difficulties to assemble or work with it.I'm glad I purchased it.

Happily surprised
I have back problems and really don’t want to shovel. I bought this because we were expecting like a foot of snow, didn’t happen but we did get 3”. This is perfect for 3” snow storms. The battery lasts for around 1/2hr, so if you get a lot of snow in your area buy extra batteries. This will clear approximately a 6 car driveway with 3” of snow in about 1/2hr. We have around a 15 car driveway so we are considering buying 2 more batteries. Each battery fully charges in around 2hrs. Do read and follow the instructions on battery usage so you don’t fry the battery. The product is very light weight maybe around 20lbs. I feel like this is a product my frail 73yr old mother could use without too many issues. Honestly I was expecting this thing to be a POS but am happily surprised by its performance.

Mixed feeling depending on how you want to use this blower.
I was initially going to give this a 1 star review, but after another attempt, (3 in total) to use the snow blower, I became a little more generous. No matter what, the engineering team needs to hire some folks familiar with snow instead of grass!Right off- this is not a Snow Blower in the true sense of the word. It is more of a powerful snow shovel! If you live where you get a fair amount of heavy snow, (the kind you build snow men out of), this might not be for you. Living in northern Illinois, with the 5A batteries, you may be able to handle up to 3" of wet snow for 30 minutes, including chunking away at the front of the driveway where that darn cursed plow deposited snow boulders over night. Battery drainage is directly related to heaviness of snow and depth. Similarly, being a 1 stage discharge instead of 2 stage, the wetter the snow, the more it will pack in the chute. The paddle and design just don't have the power to thrust heavy snow out very far and more or less just push the packed snow forward, in front of the paddles. If on the other hand you live where you get nice fluffy powder most of the time, this snow blower should work fine. In both cases, I recommend buying the bigger battery, (5Ah). In the case of 3" of powder, this machine churned it up and threw the results a long ways. The larger battery still only gave me about 30 minutes of medium work before it literally refused to pick up and move any more snow without stopping. I like the directional crank for the chute, but the chute itself is poorly designed. If you try to adjust it down for a close throw distance, it has a gap at the back end that will actually push snow out onto the blower itself, rather than up and out. Minor flaw but maybe once again, showing why SnowJoe should stick to summertime products and leave winter to those with more experience moving different weights and height.Oh well- I will keep it and for less heavy usage rather than my gas powered Toro and as a lightweight spare. It definitely is quieter, lighter to maneuver and easier to start than a gas powered pull coil. Just don't expect the same results.

Zero battery life!
I purchased this snowblower to spare my husband from having to shovel and this is what he asked me to share with you: This snow blower is the single worst purchase we have made on Amazon in over a decade of shopping regularly. The first time I used it on a full charge in 4-5 inches of powdery snow, it stopped working after 15 minutes. I contacted Snow Joe and after 10 days I still have yet to hear back from them. The online chat tool was also utterly useless. It snowed again, about 3-4 inches, and I tried it again and it failed after 5 minutes. Snow Joe should be embarrassed for selling this product, and should be ashamed for not responding to an inquiry for more than 10 days. That is terrible customer service. While I cannot tell you what to buy or who to buy it from, I can warn you so that your winter is better than mine. Avoid Snow Joe. You'll be out of hundreds of dollars and still have to shovel anyway

Easy peasy!
I was able to assemble it myself. It is lightweight and cleared 8 inches of snow in a breeze. On the initial run, it took an hour to charge both batteries which was faster than most of my devices. I finished in about 30 minutes and it was still charged. My only issue was learning to maneuver the snow blower. I had a tendency to push it forward, but I learned that if I let it propel itself slowly, then I didn't tire as fast. The chute also takes awhile to know how to adjust it so that the snow does not blow back in your face.Overall, it was worth the investment and I am quite satisfied.
