Interestingly good.
When children test each others skills and hope to win their way out of the poor situations they find themselves in. Great movie.

a bit at a loss ...
A Turkish school where boys spend a lot of time training to be wrestlers - the training is quite tough, they do follow normal lessons as well, although how much is not clear. This documentary sheds light on their vulnerability, the homesickness some feel; I couldn't quite decide about it, but it left me sceptical. They seemed to be kind to each other, but it is hard to feel you are enough in their shoes. The authority figures seemed too militaristic to me. I'm sure it is the same in boys' organisations around the world, no matter which culture. When one boy is upset because he cannot compete because of repeated nosebleeds, his mother seemed very supportive and the look on her face with the doctor certainly showed this, as the doctor was sticking metal rods up his nose; however the repeated stressing of how she wanted him to be a 'real man' afterwards, all put across with much hugging, jars, I think. The whole thrust is towards a code of masculine identity I don't like. Whether it does these boys more harm than good is an open question, I think, but to me this is not really how boys should live, nor the values I would think they should be given. For one thing, I really think they would be better off at home than living in such an institution, with the harshness that this gives - no wonder they are always putting their arms round each other - it must be tough to get through this for many, one imagines.
