I took these out for the first time this morning. For a 4 mile trek, with soft and hard snow, incline and decline areas, they worked great. The bindings never loosened and they were easy on and off. If I were to get "serious" and look to go on a 10+ mile trek routinely, I would probably look for a better made pair. A quick search when I bought these, showed several highly rated shoes for $200+. For what these cost though, they are great for sub-10 mile treks.UPDATE. The poles, if you use them on the street, will punch through the rubber tips very quickly. My more expensive walking poles that I have used for the past couple of years have not punched through their rubber ends. With these poles, with probably less than 20 uses on the street, punched through the rubber tips.Since the listing for these shoes/poles are all about snowshoeing and not street walking, I am not changing my rating. But it is a little disappointing.

I haven't used the shoes in deep snow yet but in the little we have they worked great.

I’m not surprised that these didn’t last one small trip, based on what I paid. Just invest in a name brand pair. These binding would not stay tight during hike.
