Overall we are pleased with the table.Pros: It's attractive, quite heavy, and the leaf mechanism works really well. We feel it's a good value.Cons: I could do without the manufactured "distressed" edge - it's clear it was done on purpose and doesn't add to the table, however, it doesn't necessarily take away the attractiveness either. My wife doesn't seem to have an issue with it, I just think it would look better without it.It's pretty stable when it's closed, but you definitely don't want to be leaning too heavy on the ends when the leaf is in place.Assembly was not bad, but like several other reviews - there are no mounts or even predrilled holes for the legs to attach. There are some hand drawn marks where you align the legs, but it's up to you where you screw them down. There really should be imbedded mounts that accept a bolt vs simple screws. Three of the sixteen screws stripped out easily also. There are eight per leg so it's still secure, but for a table this heavy it should really have better mounting for the legs.My biggest complaint is actually with the packaging: we ended up with three commercial size garbage bags full of non-recyclable styrofoam. It's unconscionable in this era to produce so much one-time use waste.

Pretty darn solid and heavy, I love it ! Without opening up the leaf it is small but creates more room if you have a open concept home, which I love. Easy to put together and does not feel cheap at all.

I love my new dining table! The installation was easy (but definitely requires 2 people). I scheduled a delivery to my place and it showed up early. I love the quality of the wood and it feels so well made. The butterfly built into the table is what sold me. I live in a smaller apartment and it fits perfect, extended or not. This color is a deep black but you can see the grain in the wood so it doesn’t feel “heavy” looking. Planning on buying the matching chairs soon!

I would love this bench but the top wood piece was defective with grooves in certain parts of the side/top. It doesn't affect the functionality of the bench, but it looks like it's defective. Hard to tell in photos but in person the black color shows the defects so clearly. Since this is in a dining room, I asked the company to replace the top and they did respond but said they had a backlog of requests so it might take awhile. UPDATE: I was hoping to update this review from 3 starts to 5 stars. I received a huge box today-- larger than the box the entire bench was in. In it was the "replacement top" for the defective bench top. Now they sent me the wrong color. I had specified that the bench was black in my request and even sent them photos and an invoice. But instead they sent me a light golden brown bench top. I live in a high rise so it's not easy to dispose of a huge box and it's not cheap to dispose of the wood. UPDATE: After I reported the brown piece sent to me, the company replied that the original bench was not defective--those imperfections are supposed to be on it. I asked them, why then did they send me a replacement -- instead of just telling me that in the first place? They didn't know. So now I guess I have to dispose of this brown wood. I still like the black bench so will just keep it and take their word for it --that it's supposed to look that way. I am upgrading the stars because the bench is nice looking and sturdy for the price.
