Great tank for three Bettas - or freshwater shrimp/invert tank!!
The media could not be loaded. First I want to address the negative reviews on this that state it broke in shipping....that belongs on a seller's feedback - not a product review. Breaking a GLASS tank during shipping is not a reflection on the quality of the product - but it IS a reflection of how well the seller packaged the item for shipping. For the record, my trio arrived quickly and pristine conditioned (seller was Big Al's - a third party seller here on Amazon).Now. Review of the tank. LOVE it!!!Look is sharp, and is a creates a beautiful backdrop to display our gorgeous Bettas!! The black back & dividers are a gorgeous contrast to the Betta's beautiful colors.I purchased my tank in April of 2019, and am cycling the tank with Danios since they are tolerant fish and always active & interesting. Surprisingly, the Danios have spawned in the tank!! We found about 300 spawn in the sump at the back of the tank (photo #2, but since removed to grow out).Like all small tanks, it's not been easy to cycle, although it is clearly now fully cycled and ready for Bettas...but now it is too hot for shipping, so bettas will be waiting to be ordered until cooler weather here in Florida. *Sigh* Photo in my picture is of one of my Bettas in the trio - but pulled him out due to the stress of the cycle.Maintenance is simple on this tank (unlike so many Betta tanks!). All filtration/sump areas are simple to keep clean and big enough for me to get my hand in to clean all interior surfaces. Water changes are as easy and uncomplicated as they come.Flow is, as you'd expect in a tank like this, stronger closest to the output and weakest by the intake. Overall, the flow is great for Bettas. The downfall of the overall low-flow is that I find it nearly impossible to keep the surface free of that layer of whatever grows on still waters. For the Danios cycling the tank, I added airstones (as you can see in the 3rd photo). I'm not sure of how I'll deal with this when the Bettas are put in...maybe lower the flow of the bubbles (??).Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase - even three months in!! I really want to add another of these tanks...but...I we already have five tanks running in this house besides this one!!

TANK COMES SHATTERED every time!
I ordered this twice and exchanged it twice. For a total of 4 tanks delivered to my house with different parts shattered each time. The last time it was broken so much that glass fragments were falling out of the box!

Great with a few mods.
As I had seen and read in other reviews. The pump along with the outlet nozzle created too much flow in the far right section leaving the top of the water in the far left section almost completely stagnant. So I made 2 modifications.I upgraded to a 50 gph pump and placed and placed a filter sponge to get just the right amount of flow through all 3 sections without causing too much flow for the bettas.Other than that the aquarium came very well packaged, and the build quality and functionality is is great!

Too Powerful
Beautiful fish tank! But... The reason why I gave it only three stars is because it is WAY too powerful for a betta. The betta in the compartment where the water flows out struggles to swim- ironic huh? The name of the aquarium has betta in it. However, I did some research and decided to purchase the fluval prefilter sponge to calm the water flow down.

I love the tank but the set up instructions could have been much better. Also very concerned about finding charcoal and ceramic cartiledge replacement filters for the unit. Only two places on line that I can find sell the filters and both places are out of stock for both items.

It's like Alcatraz to Bettas and hell for shrimp
Mom always said if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything, but I have to... this tank is awful if you want Alcatraz for your betta's bye it! But beware they hurt each other through the vents, the water gets slime... dont waste your money the lite is NOT the one in the picture

Wrong Item
The shipping weight of the Aqua One Betta Trio is actually 25 pounds, not 51.7 as stated in the description. This was my 3rd attempt at ordering the Aqua One trio and today I received a 45” wide glass tank in a tattered box which was shattered to pieces.

DO NOT PUT BETTA'A IN THIS SHRIMP TANK
This is a beautiful tank however,Not for Betta fish. A Beta fish would be tortured in 2 Gallons and without the filter that is the space. Betta fish MUST have the min of 5 gallons. Please
