Remodeling a 1972 house, brick exterior, the old doorbell was shot. This was a great option, brick mounting required a little relief on the back for the button but a masonry bit provided the needed clearance. Looks great! Would recommend and buy again if I ever needed one (I doubt it this is a very high quality product)

Nice looking doorbell. It requires drilling a hole where the wire comes through the wall if your existing hole isn’t large enough. You’d have to drill where your wire passes through, which isn’t possible. So for retrofits, you’d have to be very lucky. I added a 3/4” block on top of my existing trim block as a workaround.

Supplied hardware was not useful and the instructions are missing the drill bit size required. I tried 3/16" (too small) and 1/4" (too large) drill bits. The supplied plastic anchors are not really very usable without the correct drill size (missing in the instructions).I used some Blue Hawk #8-10 x 1-1/4" Plastic Anchors # 0326629, through a 1/4" hole. These tapped in fine and I was able to tap in the doorbell solid pins well. A better way to do this may be to use a thin metal plate or hard plastic plate screwed to the wall and double sided tape to attach the doorbell SS plate to the thin metal or hard plastic plate.Even better would to the doorbell is with a small mounting plate & a hidden screw on the bottom side of the doorbell SS plate. This is the way nice towel bars are attached to the wall. One example is the Ginger 4603 Kubic Towel Bar.One must be very careful to get it level, so it is the not crooked.It looks works & looks fine otherwise.

Love how heavy duty and sharp this looks. Matches my contemporary square stainless steel door handle with square plate. Works easy. Had to use some silicone to install so just be ready.
